When and how did Angelo Mosca morph into the number one babyface in Toronto during the early 80's? Was there a specific face turn or did he just get programmed with heels?
Mosca was similar to Bulldog Brower in that his style didn't really change yet he was a face in Toronto & a heel everywhere else.
During the early 70's Mosca was a face in his MLG bouts (including vs the Sheik) and Ontario Wildman shows of 72,73 and 74 matched against monster heels such as Eric the Red and Archie Gouldie the Stomper.
His rare mid 70's MLG bouts he was a heel vs Andre and during the late 70's AWA run he was a heel in the Lord Al Hayes stable.

believe it stemmed from when he faced Bockwinkel late '78 as he was cheered in those bouts, he also had a falling out with Hayes that may have been part of that, an AWA guy can probably add to that part.....
he also turned face in Winnipeg around late '79 early 1980 and then moved into Mid Atlantic a little later as a face , he definitely didnt change his style at all, was often dirtier than his heel opponents here

MOsca didn't change.....what changed was who he was against......I know Charlotte, who he was working for when he was Cdn Champ up her, would book him as a babyface up here to utilize his notoriety as a ex CFL footballer. I know he worked for Charlotte, and did some NY shots, because his licence plates were North Carolina and he didn't change them to Ontario, even when he wasn't full time in Charlotte.....all they had to do was book him against known heels, have the heels jump him from behind a few times and voila, instant Babyface.......and he had to do nothing......except smile a bit more.....and there are no 'falling outs', it's just switching for what is good for drawing money...

Was this the area where Mosca spent the majority of his career?

Mosca spent the latter parts of his career in Charlotte. The weather was nice, and he came home to Canada to work for the Tunneys. He spent his career in many territories, and I know he told me toward the end he would split time between Charlotte and New York.....both were good money at the time and Ange went where the $$'s payoffs were.

mosca had a great heel run in Georgia that is never mentioned. He ran rough shot over the territory for a while capturing the Georgia belt. I was about 7 or 8 but i was really impressed with his viciousness. He gave rich and wrestling II fits
