I don't know, I think a manager smacking someone in the back of the head with a tablet might be a pretty good finish today, and they would be about the same price as Paul E.'s phones would have been.
But yes, the WWF did go after them about that spot several times when they attempted their ill conceived attempts to fight back.

It would hurt, but when you take down the heel locker room, might be an exaggeration, so I will say several heels and just stand in one place while they run into an elbow, a high heel shoe or anything else, t is not only ridiculous - it is stupid.

But in that example, it's not so much the object, but the context of how the object was used. Honestly, if every heel in the locker room comes after you, even if you are armed with a chair, you aren't supposed to come out on the winning end of it.
Which is why I said, I think we need to focus on the original finish and maybe the pay-per-view finish since that's when the WWF started mocking them over it (and other people did as well.)
The reason I say that, honestly, Hogan didn't need a high heel to come up with stupid finishes and angles (the doomsday cage match comes to mind immediately.) So if we start critiquing them over the context or how often they did it, etc we could also wreck a lot of really good finish ideas that Hogan's 1995-1996 booking ruined.
So I think, or at least hope, we can all agree Hogan holding off the 81st air borne by himself, shoe or otherwise, is ridiculous. But what is the overall thought on the use of the heel as a singular finish, and did it warrant immediate mockery?

I'm fine if it is booked and executed properly ... even with a tablet as someone suggested it has to be done right .. in the match that pitted Ricky against Robert when Morton was in the York Foundation, Morton hit him in the shoulder with the computer and pinned him - stupid.

To give you an idea of the validity of the shoe as a foreign object, and to show what a huge mark I am, as a kid during the Horsemen days I was performing my own match and took on of my father's dress shoes and had "JJ" toss it into the ring for Tully to use. I wacked myself over the head with it to simulate my getting knocked out and losing. Rest assured, it hurt like hell.

the shoe was lame, i bought Paul E's phone more (it often shattered).. or IRS's briefcase (that was revealed to contain a brick).. but is it really any worse than Jim Cornette's tennis racket?!?
And don't forget, Vince booked a finish where Hogan lost the WWF title after Harvey Wippleman in disguise, hopped up onto the ring apron and flashed a fireball, that didn't come within 3ft of Hogan, from a camera that looked like it was from the 1930's.. and the photographer or incident was never mentioned again!!
(to be fair, it worked better than Hogan's next attempt at fire during Warrior-Hogan 2; and both of those finishes were recycled from an old Hogan-Race feud from 10-15yrs prior)

| I'll be selling merch at the line to urinate on Cornette's grave...

The point is not the finish, the point is doing that same lame thing a grip of times ... and Hogan holding off the heel locker room or even just one faction with a shoe is really stupid.
