Guys like George Steele may have had multiple managers over a 25 year career; however, Greg Valentine had a lot of managers after the Grand Wizard died

Managed by
Lou Albano
January 24, 1984 - November 19, 1984

Jimmy Hart
February 12, 1985 - August 10, 1985

Johnny V
August 24, 1985 - November 10, 1987

Jimmy Hart
November 24, 1987 - ??

Why so many changes in managers?

His last run with Jimmy Hart lasted until his face turn on December 28, 1990 at MSG vs. Saba Simba.  Not sure on the rest, but his 1987 switch to Jimmy Hart may have been due to Johnny V leaving the WWF.  Wondering if there were any TV promos justifying these switches at all?

Yes, Valiant left at the end of 87 but the switch was more to coincide with the split of the New Dream Team. I seem to remember them making a deal out of Valentine reuniting with him at a SNME match with Beefcake. So, when you think about it, barring the run with Valiant (when he was almost exclusively in tags), he would have probably stayed with Hart from 85-91.

On a side note, it was a bit of a shame that Honky left when he did. I guess we would have seen Hammer/Honky at WM7 if he stayed a few months longer (although HTM had started commentary on Superstars so maybe not). Instead we saw an Earthquake squash from which Valentine's face run never really recovered.

Johnny V was still around until sometime in 1988.  Right after the Survivor Series in 87, Valentine was about to have a match on Superstars when he announced that he was getting back together with Jimmy Hart.  But there was no explanation why he left Johnny V or split up with Bravo

Anytime I post a ring result, I got it from Graham Cawthon's wonderful website

He distanced himself from Albano shortly before Lou's face turn at MSG in late December 1984

Actually there's about a two week period in 1987 where Valentine was managed by both Hart and V.  The switch to Hart occurred before Survivor Series but didn't air until after it, so for a brief time, Valentine had two managers.

He was still around but it was in a limited and non-manager capacity (mainly doing house show jobs up until around March).
