I have been reading some reports that the legendary Number One Hillbilly Ron Wright is in bad shape.

Yes he is. Ron has been ill from some time. Don Wright told me a few weeks ago he gets worse by the day.

When I interviewed him for KM years ago I told him that he was remembered and respected by fans around the country. The Interwebs gave him more of the exposure he deserved.

I saw Ron in Chattanooga in the late '60's, & him & brother Don in the early '70's. They were the real deal. Bad ass east Tenn. country brawlers. Their fulltime day jobs kept them from really traveling much--but, if they HAD traveled more, a LOT more ring fans would of seen & been impressed by the great heels Ron & Don Wright. Just last Sept., 2014--at the state fair in Knoxville, there was a Southeastern Reunion card, & Don Wright was hilarious on the mic, & he & fellow heel Jimmy Golden lost the main even to the Bullet (Bob Armstrong) & Ron Garvin. They all 4 could still work a fun, action packed match!
