So Muraco was a face.
Did any of the 1/20/89 tapings ever see the airwaves? I would have remembered Muraco on AWA TV. Several AWA title histories list this as the day Jerry Lawler was stripped of the belt. I wonder if he no-showed and it somehow ruined the tapings?
Alternate theory: Maybe attendance was down that day due to the inaugeration of George Herbert Walker Bush.

Thanks to Karl, I have some Muraco in AWA from then on tape.
If I could I'd rip it and stick it on YouTube.
He was huge then, too.

Did Adonis get injured at the Minot, MN taping against Greg Gagne? Was that the same taping where he teamed up with Bob Orton Jr. to face AWA Tag Team Champions the Midnight Rockers? Is there a website that has AWA results similar to Graham Cawthon's website?

I thought Graham had different sections for the different territories, with detailed results for the different promotions, just like he does for WWF.
He has stuff for WWE, NWA/WCW, ECW, SMW, TNA, & ROH, but none for AWA, WCCW, or GCW.

I know the AWA was beyond repair by that point, but seeing a heel faction of Adonis, Orton and Muraco running wild would have been fun (same guys that took out Piper two years earlier).

Quoted from: Darla, September 05th, 2007 15:10 GMTAdrian was a passenger in a van driven by Mike Kelly, and I belive Mike swerved to keep from hitting a moose and went down an embankment. Also killed in that accident were Pat Kelly and Dave (the bearman) Mckigney. Mike was injured badly, but survived the accident. If I remember correctly, it happened on July 4, 1988.
Yes. I remember when Adrian Adonis' death was announced at a Windy City Wrestling event at Rockford's Boylan Catholic High School on July 9, 1988. Adonis' AWA manager, Paul "E. Dangerously" Heyman was there with Windy City.

Muraco came in as a Heel in 88 along with Adonis and Orton and was turned face which was probably not explained, the episodes with Muraco did indeed air
The January 20, 1989 taping at Milwaukee Auditorium definitely aired, filling in the space between the AWA showing Super Clash III matches along with leftover bouts from the multipromotional tapings in Nashville, Louisville, and Memphis from the fall beforehand and the St. Paul taping afterward. Magnificent Muraco got a huge push as a babyface and seemed like a contender to win the World Title battle royal at the St. Paul Civic Center taping a few weeks later. However, he no showed the latter event and never returned.
Muraco was never aligned with Adonis and Orton in the AWA in 1988. The latter two were long gone, and in fact Adonis was dead, by the time Muraco arrived. He'd last been a babyface in the WWF and came to the AWA in that role. He lasted about a month or so, mixing in appearances in Stampede.

I was at the Jan. 20, 1989 taping. Man, it was Looooooooong. Since the crowd was relatively sparse, before beginning they asked for fans to move down to the lower level to make the Auditorium look more full.
As for Adonis, he was so huge in his last AWA run. But he could still bump. When he and Ventura were teaming in the AWA, I would've loved to have seen Adonis in a match with Bockwinkel.

Quoted from: Heretic, September 05th, 2007 23:57 GMTHis big feud was with Tommy Rich, maybe that's who you're thinking of.
I can't actually remember a time Adrian did his own talking in his last AWA run. Paul E. Dangerously seemed to do all the talking.
I actually saw a promo where Adrian did most of the talking Paul took maybe the first 10 seconds. I think it was during the Tommy Rich feud.
