Anyone have Memories of ICW in Welch, Bluefield, Beckley etc.... I remember Gravin vs Savage in a cage. In the early 80's Mid Atlantic and Georgia ran spot shows in Bluefield. So ICW pretty much had a run in Southern WV. Georgia would make a pit stop on there way to Michigan and Ohio. This was around 1982.

I remember how tough the road trips were to W.VA from Lexington and finding a decent affordable place to spend the night, when we had multiple shows in the area. Pretty state but for the boys it was not a pleasant experance getting there and back. On the other hand, we always enjoyed doing the shows themselves and the fans' reaction to them and us.
Take care, Izzy

They ran several shows I believe at the Welch Armory. I can't remember for sure but think they might have went to Logan a few times as well.

I will post several WV cards throughout the 1981 time frame for all to see.
Match up betweem Big Boy and Black Avenger is a toss up.... I'll bet Angelo favored Mr Williams

I'm picking Vines over McCord in the even match up on the card. Would have loved to see Black Avenger and Rip Rogers as tag champs ....if only for a month or two.
Beckley was one of the strong monthly shows the Poffo's would perform. Frankfort , Ky , Cape Girardeau Missouri and London Ky were others of a similar stature.

Charleston was a decent ICW city. They also wrestled in Marmet real close to the capital city.
Sword probably demolished McCord as this was right after he turned heel and was getting a big push.
Lanny vs Orton always was a classic bout.

Went to maybe one show in Welch. It is my hometown, don't know why I did not go more. The National Guard Armory is close. Still standing. Watched ICW
but followed Mid Atlantic and Georgia more. Thanks for posting these.

Here's the February card for Welch 1981. The Assassin was Bob Roop under the hood before he pulled "The Sting" on Savage.
As the Assassin Bob basically dominated jobbers with the sugar hold in 2 minute matches.
Garvin vs Rogers is a good main event.

I assume this was right before "The Sting" where the Assassin was revealed to be Roop after he pretended to put Garvin out with the sugar hold before tossing Savage face first into the cage. I'd give my right arm to see that again.

I've got the first 2 and a half minutes of the cage match between the Assassin and Garvin but not the conclusion.I'm still embarrassed I didn't peg Bob Roop as the Assassin and realize what was going on. But he had such a weird outfit; gloves , leather jacket etc it was hard to tell who was underneath the get up.
Here is the Welch ad for April.
Weingeroff vs Orton Jr I bet was a great bout. Lanny carried Crusher but their bout were exciting.Lanny usually prevailed by dq to keep Crusher looking strong.
McCord vs Starr ; McCord had to be a solid favorite ....unless he had given his 2 weeks notice to Angelo as he left in May 1981 and worked for the Jarretts at the bottom of the card.

McCord in 2 main events back to back in Welch. This is an odd card as the people not here might have made a difficult pairings. Savage was the only destroyer at this point as Pez hadn't turned yet. Crusher Broomfield , Garvin, Lanny , Weingeroff , Doug Vines and Savage would all worked the other show that night.
