I have a small article from Milwaukee's Sunday entertainment mag from that time in which someone asked a question about the incident. The account was different from the one Harley gave in the above clip. IIRC, Gleason was introduced to the crowd and Race told him on the mic, 'You are nothing but a fat bum to me.' Gleason then punched Race, who reeled, recovered and started to go after Jackie, but was restrained.

That's pretty much what I heard also ... I always heard Harley insulted the fans ,,, and said they were also bums including Gleason and Gleason confronted Harley and punched him
Was shocked to discover Rocky Johnson was his opponent, which is ironic since Gleason was known as the "The Great One."

No footage exists and was never shown on CWF t.v. and if IIRC it was never mentioned on CWF t.v.. I'm pretty sure the Miami Herald had a photo or two and write up about it when it happened. If it wasn't the Herald then it was the Miami News or Sun-Sentinel.
