The Yeti became a new member of the Dungeon of Doom in 1995 but he didn't stick around for long and he didn't look too impressive the short time I saw him.
Does anyone know who was under that ridiculous mummy disguise?

One wonders whether anyone in WCW had ever actually heard of the Yeti. First of all Reis comes out dressed as a mummy, then they put him in a Street Fighter costume and hint he comes from Japan. Finally they call him Super Giant Ninja, still in the same costume, and job him out. Lasted about 12 seconds in one of those massive battle royals.

A yeti is supposed to be like a version of Bigfoot, right? Or like the Abominable Snowman?

Yes, exactly, that is why the WCW Yeti was so odd. It was weird enough that they even considered having a wrestling Yeti but then the character looked like a mummy as opposed to a big ape monster like Bigfoot.

The Yeti was supposed to be El Gigante, but he couldn't get cleared and never came in. Reis was supposed to be the Super Ninja that he eventually became for his couple matches. And since WW3 was billed as a giant in each ring, but they had to call Hogan a "giant" since they only had two of the three real giants with Reis and Wight that they'd originally planned.

Quoted from: wrestlevessel, May 04th, 2015 02:28 GMTI loved it when Schivonie yelled the Yeti!
Yes! Didn't he pronounce it "YETAY" or something like that? "Dear God, here comes the YETAY!"
