Tag Team title belts?
How many versions of this great Championship were there?
I am guessing 2 (The old school style plates and the colorful Hogan/Nationa/TV style belts) with the originals maybe going threw a releather or 2.
Or was there more then 1 version of the old school plate style title belts?

I only know of the two versions. Of note is the fact that the AWA tag was the first to use that design.

The later AWA version of the tag belts used to be on display at the Dan Gable Museum in Newton, IA. I remember they looked pretty worn, with some of the paint coming off them. I am sure they went to their new place in Waterloo, IA.

I remember an old picture of I forget who but they had the tag title in hand and it was folded over as such that all you could see was the main plate. Now that is what I call a worn in belt lol.

The first tag belts that Hennig and Race had by Harley's own admission, were awful. They had little brass trophy plates on some leather straps.I think they didn't fit very well.Arakawa and Moto and Bruiser and Crusher used what I think might have been Moto's Asian tag team belts with a Buddha figure on top. There's a pic of Dick and Crusher that was used for a publicity photo with those belts from 1968/9.Then the Vachon's had a set from Mr. Reggie that they later used for their Grand Prix belts with slightly bigger face plates than the one's Crusher and Bastein down through to the Warriors used.Verne replaced those with the "cookie cutter" design that ended up in the Iowa Museum. How Mr. Reggie got the gig to make belts was when he worked for Joe Dusek in Omaha in 1966,he had some Midwest belts that looked like mini AWA/Bock /Stevens era tag belts, and when Race and Hennig saw them, they reportedly wouldn't wear their out in Omaha.Reggie also made the version of Verne's AWA belt that was used by Verne through the 60's/70's until it was stolen(and later recovered),which was a replica of an award belt Verne was given in 1951 that had a new logo plate put over it and used for a time as the AWA world belt.

So how much were the Bastein/Crusher to The Road Warriors belts worth, how much did they cost Verne?
