Thanks Rich for your post. When we look back at old footage now it is easy to say this guy or that guy was a sub par worker. Compared to Flair and Steamboat, most of the guys would fit that. At the time, 1981-1984, a guy like Jimmy Valiant drew a sellout house. Boogie Jam 84 in Greensboro sold out and Flair vs Steamboat was not the main event. Valiant wrestled the Assassin. Sure Flair's match was better but the local TV angle at the time helped draw the sellout. I guess Jimmy's style was better suited for Memphis. Thanks Rich for pointing out that Jimmy was one of the first guys to use rock and roll music. I can tell you house shows in the early 80's did not use it much at all.

1. Displayed great in ring move set. 2. Was very focused in the 100 years Jones Army / Valiant beef. 3. Not afraid to adapt his personality from King James Valiant into the Boogie Man. Kidding aside, never was a favorite of mine but damn if he wasn't involved in some pretty entertaining stuff for about 5, 6 years in the 80's.
