I'm not sure that Jones ever worked JCP, but he was a regular in the Carolina's so I'm posting this here. What gimmick did Jones work before becoming DeBeers?  Was Jones using the DeBeers gimmick prior to Wiskoski? For those who are unfamiliar with Major DeBeers he is a very entertaining indy worker in this area.

The guy who can tell you all about Major DeBeers is Count Grog, they've worked together for years on the Virginia/Carolina indy circuit.

I always thought Major Debeers was about as blatant a gimmick steal as I've seen, yet from all reports, Jones made it work big time.

And that is all the people need to know!

to settle any confusion Major DeBeers is not Col DeBeers (Though some promoters have billed him as such)
Ed claims to have been giving the blessing from Wiskowski to do the gimmick, I can nor confirm or deny this.
Ed has worked the Carolinas since 1978.  I have managed Ed since 1994.  The Major has worked as a jobber under masked gimmicks for Mid Atlantic in the 1980's,  Ed got big pushes in Johnny Hunters EWA in the late 1970's early 1980's.  He started his fued with Rick Link there and this feud continues today.  Ed also worked for nearly every indy in NC at one point and under masked gimmicks jobbed on WWF TV in the 1980's.

Again to eliminate the confusion we are talking about Ed Jones not Ed Wiskowski.
But if your in a bar on a Sat night and want to but Major DeBeers a beer because you think he's Ed Wiskowski he will gladly pretend to be him.
