Yes, flat file databases (like DBM) eat server resources and are not really practical and as even cheap hosting these days has MySQL then why would anyone want to use DBM ...
We will help whenever we can and time permitting but occassionally some servers just wont allow the transition due to perl module problems. I hasten to add that this is rare - but still a possible risk. But the good news is that the transition from DBM to MySQL does not destroy the DBM database so no info is lost so its always worth a try.

I just converted my DBM database to SQL and can't figure out what I was so worried about. It was a simple task once you create the mysql database and follow the step by step instructions that sly posted.
I am glad that is over with and not a monkey on my back so to speak.

I'm actually having trouble creating a mySQL database. I followed Sly's advice and keep getting error messages when I try to create it. If worse comes to worse, I'll start from scratch.

Keep at it though, once you've got SQL you will be able to convert to ICT.

I only have 32 members at the moment. So at worst, I'll only lose 31 members if I start from scratch. It just sounds a bit better that way.

With 32 there's no real need, better to start a fresh. It's really for people with hundreds of members on quite an active site.

What you see is what we are using - collapsable things use DHTML and thats not always cross browser friendly. For people who do want a collapsable one - then they could easily add it to the skins they make ;)
