Has the converter been released yet for us to use or do we have to wait for it?

If your a pre-release tester member, you can download them from the downloads section in your control panel here.

All is converted but If you want to convert only the members, you could stop the convertions once that part is done and it would stop there.

At the current moment I'm running a ikonboard with over 6,000 registered members, with 187245 posts (168792 replies to 18453 Topics). I'm in the process now of uploading the new ICT board and I think it's great that I will be able to convert the database's from my old board to the ICT board!

I have a question. Will the images that members have uploaded to the board in topic's still be viewable after the conversion of databases from one board to the other? My board has some topic's with over 740 pages, all with images(uploaded pic's).

Btw, hello Sly....it's been awhile.

Yes they will be viewable but you will need to move them to the uploads directory of your ICT install. You should also update their size using the tool for it in the AdminCP. Once you have moved/copied the images, you should logon and at the end of your URL add this: ?a=umng&code=08 It will look something like this:
Code
http://www.your_domain_name.com/index.php?a=umng&code=08

This is not a documented feature but it will update all the file sizes in your database and that way, it will also accelerate operations. Once that is done, you should then re-count your forums using the tool for that in the Forums Manager of the AdminCP.

Is there currently an RFE to have the Ikonboard converter automatically preserve the category/subforum tree from the Ikonboard it's converting?

Obviously this can be done by the forum manager from the admin cp after the conversion is done, but having the tool take care of it would make converting just a touch easier.

Nice job on the tool though, went right through my system without problems that are immediately obvious.

Thanks,
P

There is not realy any way to keep the forum structure when converting. The way that Ikonboard works and the way we work is not realy compatible. It could be done I supposed but it would take alot of work to do it.

This is a free converter after all...  ;)

Yep, no worries.  I was just curious if it was something that could be done trivially, obviously not so no big deal.

Thanks,
Take care,
P
