I dont know if this is the solution but although PHP claims that pcre is installed by default it may be that I need to do the port install php5-pcre I had installed a port that was simply called pcre and it may not have been what I needed. Unless you determine the probllem to be otherwise, tonight I will try to install php5-pcre and see what happens.
If nothing else, if you can get me to install this discussion board, you will have proven that any dummy can do it

Would you email or PM me your php.ini config file? It also looks like you do not have MySQL drivers installed.

Yes, the mysql driver is not turned on by default in the PHP.INI, it has been changed with the PHP 5.0 version and newer.

I would guess that the only solution for you would be to ask your hosting company to install the Ioncube loader for you. They usually do it if you ask nicely.
