Who was Sailor Art Thomas Jr. and for that matter, who was Hacksaw Todd?

Not a Spike Huber promoted event.
This event I believe was promoted by the late Brad Davis from Watseka, IL.
I do recall Stormy Granzig and Sailor Art Thomas in the dressing room of a WWF tv in Indianapolis, IN. and giving I think road agent Terry Garvin some videos of them but unfortunately those vhs tapes were soon in some landfill somewhere in Indiana

Not sure who Art Thomas Jr. was

Yes, this was a Central Illinois Wrestling card, promoted by Davis. During 1987, I had Ox Baker live in the studio, at a radio station I worked on-air at at the time (the now-defunct WFXW in Geneva), and Ox was helping to promote C.I. Promotions (who he wrestled for during this indy's existence from 1987-1988).

To Mike DuPree and Sonny Rogers--hey, thanks a bunch, guys! By the way, Sonny, I remember ring announcing you & Jonnie Stewart vs. the Sheepherders, at a Gary Juster NWA card at the Hammond Civic Center (hey, "Beach Boy" Sonny, that was "fun, fun, fun"!).

In 1987, I also remember that Brad Davis' Central Illinois Wrestling ran a card at the Pheasant Run Resort in suburban St. Charles, Illinois (where they have home shows and dinner theater plays).

A year later, I also talked about Windy City Wrestling on the radio, and did interviews with then-Windy City boys Steve Regal and Paul "E. Dangerously" Heyman (who also recorded promos hyping me and my radio stations).

Sonny, I read on another thread that you & Sam DeCero formed Windy City Wrestling, after DeCero and Davis had a bitter money dispute (after DeCero did booking for C.I.W.--Sam did tell me that he always wanted to do booking).

Sam DeCero was a good guy to me, but he warned me a couple of times about Brad Davis, and so did a couple of other people from Windy City.  At the time, I just thought that different promoters and promotions not getting along was a given, and I just simply did my best to spread the word, via my media gigs, about this thing called pro wrestling that I loved as a whole.

Let me add my welcome back too John.
Sonnyr77819 - February 15th, 2014 13:10 GMT

Great to have you back John.
Yeah Brad was a bit ruthless and though I won't get into details of what happened, Brad violated the 11th commandment on a person whose name I wont mention and almost cost that person his job and pension and of course taking food out of a family members mouth.

In the end Brad was just like the rest of the big time promoter wannabes in expecting the walk up and advance tix sales to pay the boys, the building, ring, security, etc. and not realizing that if a show has $3500 in expenses you have $3500 in your pocket to pay the bills not have the Field Of Dreams mindset of book it and they will come and then when u don't have enough $$ to pay the bills then the checks bounce or you sneak out the back door

Was this Brad Davis also referred to as Bulldog Davis?  Some people I know from the Watseka area (surprisingly NOT Clawmaster!) used to mention this name years ago as someone with a lot of shade under his tree, so to speak.

I had quite a few chances to attend Brad's cards. I opted not to ever go. One card did air on a local access cable channel. I didn't tape it.

I don't have full results, just from my Brody list.
Brody went to ddq with Ox, and he went over in the battle royal. They worked the previous night with the same crew in Blue Island IL at Raceway Park.

Brody also worked some indy dates in Southern Illinois with Herb Simmons & Larry Matysik.

I was at this one.  Attendance had to have been less than 100 people.
Matt Farmer - February 19th, 2014 22:46 GMT

Wow that's low!
MrPiledriver - February 20th, 2014 18:08 GMT

Mr. Electricity Steve Regal poked his head out of the dressing room before the first match and said "All the people are disguised as empty seats."  As for me, Ox v. Brody was enough to get me there.  The one thing I remember about the match was an old lady vociferously supporting Ox.  Ox backs Brody into the turnbuckle in front of her and she starts screaming "Heart punch!  Heart punch!"  Ox looks right at her and says "You got it baby!" before delivering the blow.  That alone was worth the price of admission.
Sonnyr77819 - February 20th, 2014 22:31 GMT

Yeah that was a routine phrase that Steve Regal used.
