From Supermouth Dave Drason:
I have uncovered the coming photographs taken in Louisville, KY in 1972. It was during this time I was dating Charlene Durnell who lived in Louisville and ran the Eddie Marlin Fan Club. My frequent trips there didn’t always coincide with the wrestling in the area, but when it did, I took my camera and having known some of the boys, I was allowed to photograph up at ringside. Here are some of the greats who gave Louisville fans everlasting memories. Enjoy!
Just a note. Many of these photos from Dave will be recognizable to anyone who read the magazines back in the day. Nearly all the ones of the Interns were used in a story on them in Inside Wrestling. The pictures of Jackie Fargo and Saul Weingeroff were also used in a story about Jackie declaring war on managers. - DMD

The Interns try to make Eddie Marlin a little taller while the referee isn't looking.

Was Charlene the president of the fan club who presented Eddie and Tommy the big trophies, on the Louisville TV show, for best tag team, and then watched in horror as Lawler and White busted them over Tommy and Eddie's heads?

That was my beautiful girl, for sure. I still had her kayfabed at the time, didn't smarten her up to the business, and she was horrified by the incident. I laughed it off and thought - "Great TV"
She and her mother were regulars at the Louisville and surrounding area shows. It's where I first met Jim Cornette and his mother, 2 of the nicest people on the face of the planet.
My first exposure to some of the Southern greats in the business.

Yes, that was great TV! Still remember that to this day. But, I can't remember who the announcers were! Neither can Jerry Jarrett, because I asked him. He thought one might have been Michael St. John.
I guessed what was gonna happen to the trophies when they were awarded, as I am sure everyone who who was a fan did as well. I knew the woman, Charlene, by the look on her face, had no clue that would actually happen at that time, although she might have guessed it would happen later on in the show.

BTW--the Interns in the above photo were Tom "The Claw" Andrews & "Jungle" Jim Starr. Great heel duo, & Dr. Ken Ramey was a top manager for them most of the '70's. Andrews & Starr also wrestled as the Medics (managed then by Scandor Akbar) in '77 in the Leroy McGuirk area.

Even in his early partnership with Jim White, Jerry Lawler had the makings of a star. But even he probably never dreamed he go as far as he has.

Good photo. Yes, here in Chattanooga in the summer of '72, we could see that Lawler had "it". He, veteran Jim White, & manager Sam Bass made a very good heel trio in '72-'73 for Gulas.Even back in '72, a young Lawler was a natural on the mic.
