In ICW he befriended Crusher Broomfield exact same angle as when he befriended Blackwell in Southeastern Knoxville complete with both being in a box and when they came out of the box they both had a mask and were called The Canadian Bumble Bee.
Garvin won a Mop Head match vs Pez Whatley and Pez had to wear a mop on his head just as Orton Jr. did in Southeastern. I know angles are retreads but this was in the samee area didn't this at the least confuse fans?

ICW wasn't that dependent on Knoxville and surrounding areas at that time when they redid these angles; only our Tennessee brethren would have known about the prior similar feuds and actions. Possibly people in Johnson also which was about 1/14 of the promotions total gate receipts as it was weekly every Tuesday night from March 1981-Oct 1982.
But Knoxville didn't make or break the ICW at all ; I actually think in 1981 they only did 1 or two shows there due to TV problems in getting shown
So that is why they could do repeat angles like that and get away with it.

Most of the wrestling fans in southeastern KY knew the angles were retreads. We received Knoxville and Lexington channels. We watched Southeastern Championship Wrestling out of Knoxville. That was the only wrestling show we could pick up on an antennae in my area.

Until he won a match on TV. Garvin interfered a few times to cause Pez's opponent to get a DQ win and thus Pez had to keep wearing the MopHat. Silly but effective....
What?? A mop on your head? For how long?

Until he won a match. Garvin started doing run ins and attacking Pez opponents so he would have to keep wearing it.

They admitted on Tv and even showed Garvin beating Orton in the first mop match right before Garvin beat PEZ
Garvin said Orton was so humiliated, I decided to do it to Pez. They would be a great tag team.
I wouldn't really call it a retread - just as Dusty went back to Bullrope matches in his feuds - Garvin went back ... to mops

I find it very weird and very hilarious....a stip I have never heard of before.
Was the stick removed and it was worn like a wig? Was part of the humiliation that when it was put on the first time, they had just used it to mop a dirty floor?
I would love to hear more about this. Any pics exist?

Go to YouTube you can see Garvin beat Orton and the ref place the mop on him.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvg3EbtOf7E
Could be wrong, but I think when Lanny and Garvin kidnapped Pez and placed him a box and sent him to Randy in a bra and panties, the entire segment is hilarious itself, during the Miss Macho 1980 contest, I think Pez is wearing the mop under the blond wig they put on him.
That segment may still be on YouTube
Watching Randy trying to take the bra off and screaming, "I can't get it off," is hilarious.
