Aren't the singer and the bass player ("player"?) more famous than the respective wrestlers?

The singer Sting is more famous then the wrestler yes, in regards to Sid Vicious I don't think so. Psycho Sid was a big deal in the '90s up until the MNW; you hear very little about the Sex Pistols nowadays. You never hear them on the radio and I doubt man fans today who were not around in the '70s are at all familiar with him.

Sid was a big deal to wrestling fans. He doesn't have the pop-culture cache that the Pistols did and still do.

Quoted from: JasonKM, March 22nd, 2024 22:17  GMT
There was the Samoan wrestler Sabu the Wildman before the ECW Sabu.

There was also a movie actor of the '30s-'40s named Sabu who stared in the original Jungle Book movie.

I know that the original Dutch Mantell was a Dutch shooter & hooker who was an early mentor of Lester Welch.

The original Stan Stasiak was a star in Toronto in the 1920s. In 1931 he got a World title shot against Ed Don George and broke his arm, infection set in and he died 10 days later at age 36.

Anybody know anything about the original Ole Anderson?
