Happy Birthday to Cowboy Bob!

Bob was one of the all-time greats and it was great seeing him wrestle in person in Chicago and Hammond.

Ellis was a classic.  My first time ever at a wrestling show in MSG was ringside at the 2nd match of the three MSG NWA World Championship matches between Cowboy Bob and the original Nature Boy on May 25, 1962.  I remember that bout like it was yesterday. Unfortunately, at my age I can't remember what I had for breakfast!

I saw him in Omaha in 1971/72.  he teamed with Alberto Torres to win the Midwest Tag Team titles.  After Alberto's passing, he later feuded with Chris Colt, including an infamous match held at Rosenblatt Stadium in which a crescent wrench was prominently a part of!

I remember seeing the crescent wrench deal with ellis and colt in one of the apter mags after I first started following wrestling, I was fascinated by the brutality of this, had no idea who the two wrestlers were since they weren't in my territory but the images from that article stuck with me. It was like 10 most brutal matches ever, another one they featured was Abdullah the Butcher and for kamata
