The Appraiser and I had a discussion with regards to fans being conditioned as to how they accept wrestlers. 

I was contending that Rene Goulet, had he not been a constant mid carder in the AWA, could have been AWA World Champion.  When Nick Bockwinkel entered the AWA, he was immediately given a mega push.  He defeated everyone.  While Goulet on the other hand, though he had his share of victories, never won the big ones.....and he was usually fodder for guys like Larry Hennig, Harley Race, Chris Tolos and many others. 

I'm not saying that either Olsonoski or Ritchie were not qualified to fill a high flyer role, only that for their entire AWA careers, fans saw them job to most of the higher up's in the territory. 

Perhaps if they'd have left for a couple of years, then it may have been believeable.
