I just received word that Bob's cancer has spread to his bones. I KNEW from his appearance when I visited him Thursday that something bad was up.

I don't have any other info, except this. I don't know if the docs are going to try to treat this, or just try to make him as comfortable as they can. After seeing and talking with him, my personal feeling is just to do the latter, and let him join his beloved Chris. I hate seeing our friend and brother looking like this. Truly sad.

God bless!

Wow - very sad indeed.  I agree Smokey, about letting him join his beloved Chris.  That's where his heart is.  God bless Cowboy Bob Kelly!

We talked{FB pm} a few months after his wife passed. It was plain he was devastated. She obviously was a big part of his world. I can only offer Prayers for Mr.Bob and his family. I can't stand the thought of him suffering. Godspeed Bob Kelly.

Very sad, though not unexpected news. Prayers continue. If it has to be and it's time for Bob to transition, I pray he has comfort and peace.

It appears that I have been fed some faulty information. I am deeply embarrassed, as I always check my sources thoroughly before passing along any information. Bob Kelly, himself, is the person who repeatedly asked me to keep everyone informed on his situation, so we could be praying for him. That was VERY important to him. He asked me to contact each of you, as well as to place updates on the Kayfabe memories website. I have done as he wishes, each time there was something to report.

I received a report on October 4th that Bob had bone cancer. I had seen him two days before receiving that report, and he did not look at all well, and was very weak. When the above information was passed along to me, I asked pointedly regarding the veracity of the news, and was assured it was correct.

This afternoon, I received another report that Bob does NOT have bone cancer, after all. I am unable to reach anyone in authority who can confirm or deny what I have just been told. I can no longer place faith in these reports I have received, so I will not update further until I know PERSONALLY that all information I receive is absolutely verifiable.

Smokey, no need to be embarrassed. You've been a godsend to those of us concerned about Bob. I know you've done your best to keep us in the loop. It's appreciated by all of us. Hopefully, the latest report you've received, that there is no bone cancer, is correct. That would be great. My prayers for The Cowboy continue. I know you've got Bob's back. You'll always be solid in my book, Smokey!

Bob will be leaving the nursing home tomorrow (Wednesday) going to his home:
2451 Daniels Road West
Mobile, Al 36605

Phone 251-476-0402. I would wait a couple of days before calling him, to allow him a chance to get settled in. Just my opinion.

He will be on hospice care, but the doctors still say if he will try to eat more and do what he has been instructed to do, there is a chance he could improve. I would feel better if I could speak to them myself, to better understand exactly what they mean by this.

Kelly still requests your prayers, and said that visitors will be welcome at the house, particularly 'The Boys,' whose talk of The Business always perks him up.

Smokey, I'm with Mickey. No need to be embarrassed. Thank you so much for what you have done. I'm thinking HIPPA rules prevent his caregivers { Dr."s and nurses} from giving info to anyone not family. Bless you for watching out for him. I have to be in Pensacola later this month. Mobile is on the way. If he's comfortable enough for company and with his permission I'll stop in. Keeping the Cowboy in our Prayers. BKF

Bob is at home. He is on hospice care, along with his daughters also caring for him. He knows everyone and remembers everything, he is just very weak and not wanting to eat, which he needs to do in order to regain strength.

As far as his prognosis and future, this is where it gets murky. We know Kelly has lung cancer which the doctors say is responding well to treatment.  We know that he is too weak at the moment to continue treatment.

There have been several wild claims flying around about Bob's condition, some of which have been proven to be false. The above info is all we know for certain. The family is not saying any more, and I am not going to guess or to intrude on their privacy, unless they choose to share further. I will pass along anything of substance which is shared with me.

Kelly still requests your prayers, and said that visitors will be welcome at the house, particularly 'The Boys,' whose talk of The Business and The Gulf Coast Wrestling Reunion always perks him up.
