Face Dan. And I think most people are better heels, but Mero is better as a face.

I didn't go to a lot of WCW shows. In fact, I have only been to three. But at two of those three I saw Johnny B. Badd booked as a heel, but he got cheered both times.

There a centuries-old saying that you can't control the wind, but you can adjust your sails. I think all bookers really need to take that saying to heart. What the fans want and how they react is the wind, and your characters and angles are the sails.

It is with that in mind that I'll say JBB made a much better face than he did a heel.

I hate sports entertainment but I love wrestling. Hence, I don't watch the business any more. :(

I envy those who lived in a territory. I grew up in Tucson, AZ. My "territory" was being a WWF "C" town.

I believe the business fell on its ass in the early 90's because WCW started to copy WWF when it really should have been the other way around.

preferred him as a heel. I had every intention on hating this guy. But he won me over too. im not trying to be funny but the fact that he took his wardrobe seriously showed me that either he invested in himself, or the company did. I also look back fondly on this time period in wcw for some reason.I looped him max payne and van hammer in all together. I liked them all, I saw potential in all three.

WTF is Mr. Rena Mero? LOL. Are you saying that because Sable got more over than him and he started jobbing out?

WCW should look at Johnny B Badd as a success, good on them for gtting the gimmick over

He was a really good energetic talent, an amount of charisma and athletic, sure it would have maybe helped if he got his then wife out in WCW to boost watching figures.

He had some awesome matches with Brian Pillman, Steve Austin et al, far superior to the seven star Meltzer kick out of finisher bangers we are supposed to enjoy nowadays.

Comes across superbly in interviews also when asked about his career

Didn't hate him or like him really, just thought he was ok but nothing special. Didn't look really tough.

I respect everyone's opinion of JBB. But one person's attitude toward him that I didn't understand was the Honkytonk Man. HTM was past his prime at that point but didn't want to put Badd over. Why? It definitely would have looked believable to me as Mero/Badd was in excellent shape and turning into a decent worker, while Ferris still had the pudgy, out of shape body with ring skills that had shown no improvement since his WWF days and a gimmick that most fans were beyond sick of. While I don't agree with all of Eric Bischoff's decisions, he made the right call in firing Honky, who shouldn't have gotten hired to begin with(except he was a buddy of Hulk's).

How did Johnny B turn face and ditch Teddy Long?

Never will ever top meeting and getting Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert autograph at a Memphis Wrestling spot show in 1993 after he bad mouthed and threaten to kick Billy Joe Travis butt while Billy Joe was signing pictures.
