Please advise if not suitable as touches on a modern issue:
A recent Japanese acquisition to an American wrestling company is apparently paying said wrestler around 3.7 million dollars a year
As a fan of an older Japanese product, I feel this would be akin to WCW bringing in Shinya Hashimoto in 1991 and paying him 1m a year. A great wrestler he was but not known to everyone stateside
Very few Japanese wrestlers could be considered a draw in the US as a single box office entity: Great Muta, Jushin Liger, Great Kabuki, Killer Khan perhaps being the exceptions
Kamata, Duk,Fujinami,Inoki,Kobayashi,Chono,Ultimo Dragon, Saito, Tsuruta, Pogo, Onita, Nagata among the many who wrestled reguarly in the states but never in a capacity as what has happened recently.
