I remember ten years ago, wrestlecrap.com, posted this under their Somebody Bought This and it was during the sites previous incarnation. One person posted said he has cassette tapes of episodes of Radio WWF. Since the site has been redesigned, that comment has been erased. Anybody know of ANYONE who has them?

Radio WWF always fascinated me. I've always figured this was a Jim Ross idea because it would make WWF feel like a sport like baseball and football. I know Jim loves wrestling but sometimes I wonder if football isn't his real love. Almost everything is a football reference.
It wouldn't surprise me if Jim has the original tapes.

I was able to listen to Radio WWF via a station out of St. Louis, even though I'm in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. I always felt like Radio WWF was an extension of Jim Ross' radio show that he did in Atlanta during the last couple years of his WCW run.
Radio WWF didn't break kayfabe, but you could gain some knowledge, reading-between-the-lines. There was a sense of Ross' bitterness at WCW, as he'd make snide comments about Dusty Rhodes and others.
The show was 2 hours long on Saturday nights. With Stan Lane, Lord Alfred Hays, and Howard Finkle being frequent co-hosts. It never seemed like they got the big name stars to call in as guests though.

I'm sorry I just don't feel wrestling radio works, to me wrestling is really a visual medium.

That's pretty common for people who grew up in Texas and Oklahoma. Football; pro college or High School is like a religion down there.

Jim definitely has the tapes of his WSB radio show, he's said so. I've seen some of those circulating on Youtube but it's only scattered episodes that fans taped. The real gem there would be the episode where he broke the news that he was signing with he WWF and brought Vince McMahon on.

Just read Jim Ross' bio. Really good read. Talks about playing HS football in the mid to late 60s in it. He played flag football at a college in OK in the early 70s after transferring there from Oklahoma State University.

Ross always loved talking about high school football and nonsense like that in WCW commentary and old WWF days.

I listen to clips of his Grilling podcast and just about every one I hear has a football reference or a Bill Watts reference.
