I have results that say 1973 - but I'm not sure. The Hollywood Blondes lost the Grand Prix tag title here, Jerry Brown was injured and unable to return for the finale fall.
but upon refection, the Blondes were Champions in Sept 72, Monday may be incorrect as well as I recall Verdun shows were on Tuesday nights. will see what I can find tonight.

I originally had these in 1973 but Vance Nevada shows them in 1972.

The matches were from 1973. I found ads for the Verdun matches in Google News Archives. The Hollywood Blonds were in Atlanta in  November 1972. Also Killer Kowalski and Gilles Poisson were listed as the Champions and the Hollywood Blondes were the challengers in the ad for the Verdun matches on 11/13.

now I see I have them listed in both years

the tile history reflects 1972 so there is a jumble between the years

Going by the Vachons vs. Kowalski & Poisson matches, this must be 73, in 72 Kowalski & Mad Dog were tag partners, their feud started in 73, as a build up to the Jarry Park show on July 14, 1973, must have been still dragging it out in Nov..
The match I saw where the Blondes lost the title in what ended up a handicap match must have been in 72, I don't recall who they lost it to or which one got injured, I was assuming Jerry Brown because he was not on the next Verdun card listed here, after the handicap loss, the surviving Blonde worked a week or two in singles matches, then disappeared, when the team returned to Grand Prix they brought Sir Oliver Humperdink as their manager. They regained the tag title by SOH hitting MadDog with his cane, (in a shoot, SOH said MadDog told him prematch, if he didn't hit him hard enough to knock him out-legit, he would get and hit SOH with his own cane). They lost the belts on July 14, 1973 at Jarry Park, to Edward Carpentier & Bruno Sammartino, but Sammartino didn't stick around and I think the belts reverted to the Blondes. Gino Brito & Dino Bravo may have beaten them for the belts between July & Nov. as well.

Here is what I have for this time in GP, I probably got them from Vance Nevada, the Verdun matches were on Tuesday (not Monday) and Quebec city on Monday:

not disputing what you said bbucher, it wouldn't be the first time I've seen Champions credited with winning a title, when they actually retained it.

I agree with you 100% fan70s. I didn't mean to imply that Kowalski and Poisson did not win the Tag Titles. Just pointing out that the ad listed them as Champions.
