Might have to make that card--though Landel's card there last Sept. left a "bad taste" in my mouth. On Terry's cards you never know who's going to be there, & who'll no show. But, the drive up for me is only a little over 1 hour, so I'll probably go.

Tojo, if I live in Birmingham, would it be too much of a risk coming all the way up there for this show?  I'm asking because of what you said about Landell.

I have known Terry for 20 years and he has had all of the guys mentioned on his shows before.
You pay $8 to get into the fair and you see the wrestling show for FREE so he has NO reason to advertise people he is not going to have. Last year he advertised a few that did not show but his show was not the only one they no showed for.
I have been to about every Legends show that he has had and pretty much all of the ones advertised have showed.

The wrestling matches are not going to be what they were in the 70's and 80's but if you just want to meet and talk with the legends then you will have a good time as most are out signing autographs and talking with the fans.
They are having the matches in the same place as last year and its not really a good atmosphere for wrestling but it is what it is.
Bob and Brad were there last year but did their match and left, in the years past they always mingled and signed autographs but said they were in a hurry to get home.
You will also get to see Sawyer Brown in Concert that night for FREE also.
I will keep in touch with Terry and if  anyone cancels he will let me know.

I know Tojo was kinda disappointed last year in the length of the card and because of some of the no-shows, 3 in all but they no-showed their other booking's that week also. I know one was due to illness and the other one to an injury but the 3rd one just didn't show at all.

Chilhowee Park were the TVA Fair is at has 81 acres of things to do so you will still enjoy your self if the wrestling show is a bomb, Plus you will get to meet The GREAT TOJO if they let him back in this year, I think he paid his fine from last year and as long as he stays out of the lake this year he will be fine,

Hey--I thought --overall--that I was on pretty good behavior while I was at the fair. Yes, the lake "incident" was abit out of character for me, & I apologize for that, & the ...uh,..."unfortunate" event with the donkey & the 2 Cuban women in the animal barn was not my fault. I was only joking with what I said there, & things got out of hand. Thank the Lord that the police there that day were in a good mood & fairly understanding. I was in the handcuffs for only maybe 10 minutes--tops.
The Knoxville fair is really a great fair.Lots to see & do there. The wrestling card WAS pretty bad--except for the 1st match (seeing Davey Rich as a heel was different-ha!) & the last one with Jimmy Golden (my hero). Those 2 matches were a lot of fun. Tommy Rich was "out there" when I was talking to him. He looks rough.
I got to meet Knoxville legend Ron Wright again--that was good. His health is declining, sad to say.
Others I saw , or talked to last year was manager Izzy Slapowitch (nice guy), Bob Orton Jr., Bob & brad Armstrong (Brad still in solid shape), DWB Tony Anthony, etc... The indy workers that wrestled didn't "do" anything for me, but, they tried, & I'm sure that their moms love them. Don't know about their dads.
But, yeah--I'll probably go again this year. It's no that far from me, & the names advertised for this year make me want to go, plus getting to "hang" w/ Teddy (Southeastern fan on here) is always a treat. Teddy is a great guy, & great wrestling fan. Not to mention, he puts up w/ my "lusting" after the very pretty & sharp looking young ladies at the fair as we walk around the wonderful fair, checking out everything.
Now--would I drive from Birmingham to go to this?? Personally, knowing me--what a cheap bum I am--no, I wouldn't do it myself--too far from B'Ham (my beloved home for a lot of the '80's) to Knoxville. But, I will say to anyone else considering coming---if the weather is nice (like it was last year) the fair is definitely worth the price, & the wrestling in the fair is free (can't beat that) & some good Legends scheduled for this year. Plus, there's always the chance that I will do something either obscene or bizarre while I'm there--so you might get to witness that. I'll be locked up in jail, or a mental facility before long--it's just a matter of time. Come meet me while I'm free & still walking the streets. Could be fun, y'all!!

Oh I forgot, Terry mentioned Davey Rich also being there.

Tojo, I was hoping you wouldn't mention the lovely ladies as my wife might be looking at the site. Maybe we can get Mac McMurray to entertain her again this year as we check out the sites at the fair

Did you get the Programs that I sent?

This is a true legends card. 30 years ago this would have been a top-notch Georgia Championship Wrestling house show. I just do not know how much these guys have in the ring anymore.

Bob Armstrong (74 years old) and Brad Armstrong (51 years old) vs. Robert Fuller (61 years old) and Jimmy Golden (62 years old)
Tony Atlas (58 years old) vs. Tommy Rich (56 years old)
Ronnie Garvin (67 years old) vs. Bob Orton, Jr. (61 years old)
Dutch Mantell (62 years old) vs. Robert Gibson (54 years old)

Brad & Jimmy can still go quite well-trust me. Yes, they've slowed down--as have the others--but, I'd still rather watch all of THEM, instead of any of the other "TOP" groups out there today.

I agree with you. I saw Brad about six years ago at an Indy card in NC. He was great.

Mac at one of Terry's shows? Surely you jest.

Lot of good names on this thing....most of them are good about showing up....but Terry is also notorious for promoting more than he can deliver.

x138--No joke, I talked w/ Mac McMurray at Terry's Knoxville show last year--real nice guy.Despite Landel's rep, top names still seem to agree to work for him.

Darn---things have changed for me. I won't be going after all--have family commitments for this Sunday afternoon. Oh well--I hope those that DO go have a great time (I bet they will), & take lots of photos & post them here please, if possible.
