I have to read the part of the Ole book again but he described that Eddie Graham was the forefather as far as giving the boys " Bonuses " which really was not the case. Verne used Eddie Graham's " Bonus " idea as a way to gimmick the books airfare compensation.

This does appear that Verne was the real winner as far as the company books went. Brunzell told the story that Verne charged the wrestlers $100.00 for a flight on The Flying Coffin from Minneapolis to Denver. But he also said that Verne was taking money off the top of the gate as well for the plane ride. Jim was miffed about this double whammy. Only a select few would get to ride on Suicide One which Jim and Heenan dreaded because it was a very turbulent ride most of the time.
Verne claimed he started booking flights with Adventure Travel Agency for the guys because he was getting peeved that people were arriving late to the cards. He wanted the wrestlers to be at the arena one hour before bell time.

I think Verne had a pilot of " Suicide One " that may have been a terminated pilot that flew for Northwest. The pilot I believe that crashed the plane with Flair, Valentine, Bruggers, Woods, etc. I think was either a terminated Captain or First Officer from maybe Piedmont or Eastern plus didn't really have a whole lot of flight hours logged.

I think you're about that. I remember Jim saying he didn't have alot of confidence in the pilot on Verne's plane.

When the pilot is reading " Rhe Dummies Guide to Flying an Aircraft " I may be a tad bit worried. I may have to watch the 2 episodes of Gilligan's Island when Hans Conreid was " Wrong way Feldman "

The IRS gimmick was terrible, so cartoonish and absolutely no depth of character at all, it should have died a quick death, but instead Rotundo made it work with his excellent in ring work. Always thought Mike was very underrated.
It's about turning chicken s*** into chicken salad, or, at least, making lemonade out of lemons. Take what they give you and find a way to make it work. He's even said it was his favorite character.
I agree completely. Rotunda took a terrible, one dimensional character and made it work with solid, dependable in ring performances. That's why I think Mike is so underrated he took every character he was given to play and made the best of it and got it to work.
I didn't know that IRS was his favorite persona. Personally, I thought his best run was with the Varsity Club.

Mike was incredible as IRS. It surprises me how great he was because he's so quiet at autograph shows. IRS could have been a character like Berzerker or Skinner lasting 2 or less years doing nothing (no offense to John Nord or Steve Keirn) but Mike went 110% into IRS and last from early 1991 to June of 1995 and it was really just his last five months that saw him kind of floundering.

IRS did have a phenomenal run. He was a 3 time tag champ in Money Inc, winning the belts from 2 legendary tag teams in the Road Warriors and the Steiners, then became a part of a dominate, although very eclectic stable in DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation where he had high profile programs with the Undertaker. Pretty impressive.
