Hi all,

Did a quick search and didn't find anything, but does anyone know who Baron Von Frederick Ridentropp (or Ribbertrop, seen 2 different spelligs) was?

Found a listing for him on 5/27/72 in Granby, 5/29/72 in Ottawa and 5/30/72 in Cowansville.    After that he seemed to have disappeared.

Was thinking it could be a mistake for Baron Von Raschke, as he was on the 5/31/72 Montreal card at the Forum.

Curious if it was the same person.

Thanks!

Seem to recall someone in the know maybe Sir Oliver Humperdinck? when he was posting here, talking about that. Baron’s early days in Quebec. The different names as it evolved.

Cool name. Sounds like the name of a villian of a Hanna Barbara cartoon . I think he was one of the racers in " The Wacky Races " with Dick Dastardly and Penelope Pitstop.
Maybe a villian trying to throw off Scooby, Shaggy, and the gang.
I'll do some slueithing on the name.

You all know that Von Ribbentrop was the name of Hitler's foreign minister, right? Not quite the spelling cited by the original poster, but certainly what whoever picked this wrestler's name, whether the worker himself or the promoter, was referring to.

Yeah highly likely.
But would fans know about the reference though?
