Madusa in WCW in early 90s showed quite a lot of skin.

And then there's Missy Hyatt.

People like to believe that ECW were "pioneers", but that's often wishful thinking.

Some people have even convinced themselves that Cactus Jack began in  ECW.
Or that ECW created triple-threat matches.

Good thing I didn't say he was "equivalent." Just that they were similar gimmicks even going beyond race.

Similar how exactly?

I have literally never once heard anyone claim that Cactus Jack "began" in ECW.

ECW did not create triple threat matches but they most definitely popularized them. They were to triple threats what the Freebirds were to entrance music.

Trash-talking full-of-themselves pro athlete who saw themselves as the greatest holder ever of their respective titles (Intercontinental and ECW TV). To the extent that they were non-equivalent, for the first year or so of Rock as a heel they were non-equivalent in the other direction--Rock's climb was slow and steady and ECW Scorpio* was ahead of him as a personality in 1997. Rock was still awkward in his early Nation days, started putting things together in late '97 and gradually improved by Mania 14 time, but he still didn't really become THE ROCK until the fall of '98.

* Emphasis on "ECW Scorpio." Flash Funk is not relevant to this discussion in any way.

Shane and Russo were both openly advocating that the WWF imitate ECW. And I dunno if Bruce Prichard was actively watching ECW but he and Heyman were friends before they were directly involved in wrestling.

Sorry, not true.
Russo was getting his inspiration from popular culture. Like I said, Stern, Springer, South Park, Seinfeld.
As an example, on Seinfeld got someone else's license that said "Assman". Next thing Billy Gunn is The Assman in WWF.
On an episode of The Jerry Springer Show, Jerry was talking to a pimp who was full of himself, and talking about hos. When Springer asked him about his job choice the guy replied "Pimpin ain't easy". Soon after that Kama Mustafa got a new gimmick.

I'm glad that Russo didn't try to make an angle out out of the Seinfeld episode The Contest.

ECW was not an influence on Russo-Era WWF. Despite what some people would like to believe. Who was ECW's version of The Rock, as just one example?

New Jack

I don't see any resemblance between New Jack and the Rock at all. Not in terms of gimmick, look, ring style, or interview style. Like I said, Scorpio was much more similar.
