They talk about ECW in Rego Park, Queens at the Lost Battalion  Hall.

On a side note, the fictitious character on The King of Queens, Doug Heffernan, lives a block away from Lost Battalion, and that's where his father-in-law, Arthur Spooner goes to the Senior Citizens center.   The Heffernan character is actually based on a local kid who had behavioral and maturity problems much like the disrespectful fans who Meltzer wrote about.

It's owned by the NYC Parks and Recreation Department, and is currently under construction for renovations.

The fans were rowdy.  I'm guessing some were regulars at the neighboring strip club, Goldfingers who found out about the show and went.  

The FDNY maximum attendance for Lost Battalion was something like 1,100.  It's posted on the wall.  

One time, I'm not sure exactly when, some girls were walking along Queens Blvd and were taunted by the long line of guys waiting to enter the ECW show. Heyman loved the visual of a long line of people waiting to get in.  

One of the girls told her boyfriend or brother and he came back with some friends.  He threw a rock at the window during the show but it was a big plastic window.

I'm wondering if Vince booked Copps Coliseum for Royal Rumble because it was available at the last minute?  He probably wanted a nice big arena and it was available and his crews were close enough to drive there.

I do remember NWF on FNN?SCORE in 1988.  Things got better when SCORE had Continental and Memphis on Saturday night.

I don't remember Lucha Libre on Univision in 1988.  It aired on Galavision on ch. 53 on the local cable system, for many years.
