I'm not sure, but I seem to remember a period of time where Chris Adams was kind of a tweener. I would have to go back and watch this. Also, it was interesting when Killer Khan was in there (in 1984) and was having matches against Terry Gordy. Also, you had Gary Hart's guys taking on Akbar's guys. It was like World Class was taking a page from Memphis for a short period of time there. A portion of the crowd was always looking to cheer for The Freebirds. They just needed a reason. There were times when they found their reason.

Birds were booed from December 25, 1982 - August 2, 1984.
Once Skandor Akbar told fans that "while the Freebirds were out honkytonking I acquired the greatest find in wrestling - Killer Khan!" the Birds were cheered when wrestling Devastation Inc. and booed when wrestling the Von Erichs. Would only last a month for Hayes as he left WCCW a month later.
Birds were cheered when they returned in 1985 and feuded with Adams/Hernandez while helping the Von Erichs.
Adams was a heel from late September 1984 until late December 1985. He was managed by Gary Hart from mid August 1984 until early March 1985.

Believe it or not, I'm watching World Class from 1984 (last week of May) and The Freebirds and Killer Khan are being cheered vs. The Missing Link, The Great Kabuki and The Super Destroyers w/ Akbar. Lol...weird stuff, I know. Apparently, Kabuki decided he'd join forces with Akbar on this evening. 1984 is an interesting year, no doubt.

Recall Gary Hart talking in his book about being booked for a week in TX with Kabuki taking on Kamala in Irving the first night
Akbar and Hart were battling in the ring
Mantell did book an eight man tag with the Birds and Khan vs Super Destroyers, Kabuki and Missing Link
They wanted Akbar and Hart in the corner and pretend that nothing happened in Irving earlier in the week. Plus, they wanted Kabuki to be pinned. Mantell explained to Hart that Kabuki and Hart were in for the week and Missing Link and Super Ds were staying.
Gary told Mantell that WCCW TV airs in the Carolina’s where he and Kabuki were in May 1984.
Gary didn’t show up but Kabuki did for the match.

The answer is in the clip "It was suggested here last week that you quit for me ..."
A week prior is 2/25.

They aired clips from Fort Worth on the show - they weren't trying to keep it separate.

OK
I saw some clips for Fort Worth matches on the WCCW Dallas TV tapings but didn't know how much they shared of the Dallas TV tapings on Fort Worth show

Thanks for filling in the details there. It wound up a DDQ anyway. So, I'm not sure why the decision was changed after Hart didn't show. Hart seemed like an excellent guy to have on your side. I do think Kabuki should've been pushed more in World Class. The same could be said for Muta in WCW. Those were killer gimmicks, no doubt. The ball was dropped multiple times. Kabuki may have been on the small side, but there is something to be said for mist and martial arts.
