I am a huge DVE fan and also a recent one...I used to watch WCCW on Fox-TV in Boston circa '83 but was more of a WWF loyalist and then lost interest until recently....so I am loving the WCCW footage I am watching now and I have noticed that David put on some weight towards the end of his career/life, which I think did him well and looked good on him...he finally had some (a little) heft to go with his tremendous height. He was at the top of his game (so far) and was on the cusp of a championship.
But I wonder if he felt insecure that his body didn't resemble the maxed-out Kevin and Kerry. I think David was built more like Fritz and that he also enjoyed the Fritz appetite for food and drink (and hellraising). If he had lived he probably would have had the same body type-shape as Fritz.
Bill Irwin mentions in the WWE documentary that David ate a huge steak dinner the night he died, went upstairs and "purged" and then returned for another round of drinks and another dinner. Has anyone ever discussed the fact that David suffered from bulimia, which does happen to men who are concerned with their body image and especially those who like their booze as well as their food? Sounds to me like that is what contributed to his "cause of death" as much as the pills. If you puke all the time you end up rupturing stuff.

Just my opinion but i think David was the best of Fritz's sons. What a time in the business that he could have had.

David was the only one I liked. Who know's what he might have done if he lived. In the mid 80's working NWA,Houston,Mid-South would have been great. David chasing Flair for belt would have been great. Just think a 1987 Barry Windham vs David would have been off the chain. The only negative I could see if he lived is working for WWF with some stupid gimmack.

He looked like Huck Finn so maybe Viince would have done a Mark Twain on him.
Who would be Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher ?

Good call on the Huck Finn Tom Sawyer Becky scenario, didn't Missy Hyatt get a tryout during this time? Perhaps she could have been Becky and Tommy Rich could have came in as Tom Sawyer
Chief Jay Strongbow could have done a heel turn and been injun Joe!

Think Missy Hyatt debuted in September 1985 WCCW. She was with Eddie Mansfield, Larry Zbszko, The Road Warriors, Jake the Snake Roberts, and Johnny Tatum in 1983 and 1984 in Georgia and Mid Atlantic.
WCCW had Sunshine, Precious, Stella Mae French, Andrea the Lady Giant, etc.
