I just got off the phone with Eric, so it's fitting that I answer this now. Yes, he's pretty annoying, and it's all genuine.
But, he is a remarkably reliable agent in a business riddled with tools. And pretty honest, too.

I was recently a guest of TNAs at "Victory Road". Where Ric Flair jobbed clean. To a figure 4. To Jay Lethal. At which point I collected my family and left.

Well, I heard Flair has been having financial problems with the divorce and owing back taxes to the IRS. Nowdays Flair does jobs in order to have a job.
Speaking of doing jobs, what do you think about Honky Tonk Man not doing jobs on independent shows ? I was watching a shoot interview where he was talking about how it is really pushing it for him to put the local guy over. When you pay for Wayne to perform at a local show, you get him to win, and that's is what you get for your money.
I look at Flair and for some sick reason I still see the Ric Flair from 1987. Despite what he has become.
As for HTM, he's not on my list of favorites right now. Check back with me in a week.

I heard what he said about the Dixie Carter shoot interview and judging by the trailers you've shown. I think he is wrong. I respect him as a worker, but I wish he would stop saying of-the-wall things! He's a hypocrite too. He talks smack about Hogan for so many years and now he is working with him on the "Hulk and friends" tour.

I wouldn't judge HTM too harshly- he's just trying to keep his name on peoples lips. he's retracted the comments made about the dixie shoot now.
i think he was aiming his latest comments squarely at tna but unfortunately KC got hit by some "friendly fire" (i can't help but think of Yosemite Sam whenever i hear that term!)

Here's HTM's official retraction. Of course, this wasn't nearly as interesting to the wrestling media as the incorrect story flaming us:
"The Honky Tonk Man would like to apologise for any upset caused to Sean Oliver and Kayfabe Commentaries for his post about the upcoming release with Dixie Carter.
HTM directed his original post based on what a TNA source had informed him. That source now admits they may have misled HTM with partial information. Eg, TNA Management wanted to screen questions but were unable to.
HTM is very appreciative of his friendship with Sean Oliver and Kayfabe Commentaries and very and proud of the DVD work he has produced with them.
HTM would like to wish Kayfabe and Sean all the best for their future work and looks forward to working with them again in the future.
HTM"

I hate to say it but Jim Cornette can also be a hypocrite at times. He talks about how pro wrestling should only consist of realistic storylines, and over the top gimmicks have no place in pro wrestling. But when he started his own promotion in the early 90s, and came with a character who was supposed to be a 3,500 mummy who rose from the dead. According to James Mitchell's shoot, Prince Kharis was Cornette's idea. So yeah!

Another thing, on the Cornette Youshoot I asked him about the Eugene gimmick. Cornette said the WWE gave Dinsmore a "career killing gimmick." In Dinsmore's RF shoot, he states that Eugene was his idea.

HTM is a fool for the comments he made, why try to hurt the one company that produced two great DVDs with him? Not good business at all.

Is this the same Honky Tonk Man who bashed Hulk Hogan for years and is now profiting from a tour with Hulk Hogan as a headliner?

I guess I just don't get it. Supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery right? So I guess I'm flattered.
