The Mr Sato we had here I believe was Akio Sato. Tatsumi Fujinami was here in 1976 working as Dr Fujinami. The odd thing about Fujinami was that he was billed as havign been "discovered" in Japan by Ric Flair. This was odd because Flair was sitll 100% heel and Fujinami was a clean cut underneath babyface.

Hey whats up with that Stan Lane appearance at that Morganton NC show in 1984? I dont recall him being here then and Im certainly not doubting an appearance or two by Stan in the area. Just wondering if you have any more info on other MACW appearances by Lane or any other info?

Spider Bot - December 03rd, 2003 04:02 GMT

James,

Stan Lane is listed in a few results I have from late 1984 but I think it's a mistake. It's probably Tommy Lane not Stan. Stan was a member of the Fabulous Ones during that time period. Thanks for catching that one. I'll change the results I have and edit the card I posted above.

James-did you see the Von Steigers when they were in MA? I saw Karl in 1975 and became a fan as he had some rocking matches with Mike Graham over the US Jr. title. Were they over at all?

www.cwfarchives.com

The Von Steigers were around right on the cusp of my discovering wrestling. Thus I probably did se them but I cannot recall them so I cant say with how over they were or werent. I can say that from the results I have seen they apparently werent here all that long. Whether that is becuase they werent over or simply had a better offer someplace else I cannot say. Perhaps Barry can help us out? Barry7X you have any Von Steiger memories??

i see you have a steve regal listed for '78. was this the steve regal that worked for JCP in '85 or somebody else? the william regal in the WWE is too young for it to be him i think.
BTW whatever happened to the regal in '85?

Spider Bot - December 28th, 2003 00:40 GMT

Bobby,

It's the same Steve Regal from 1985. Mr Electricity Steve Regal. He's the son in law of Wilbur Snyder. I'll ask over on the WWA-Indianapolis board about what happened to him. One of the boys should know.

I saw Regal quite a bit in both the WWA and the AWA. In the WWA, he formed the Young Lions tag team with Spike Huber. In the AWA, he had a reign as light heavyweight champion and with Jimmy Garvin as his partner defeated the Road Warriors for the AWA tag team titles. Regal was a solid performer. So was his old partner Spike Huber for that matter.

bobbyryates - December 28th, 2003 05:00 GMT

whoops, i messed up. while reading your reply, i thought something wasn't right. i had to look up something. i gave the wrong name. it was steve casey i was thinking about, not regal.
but still, in your reply, you taught me a few things. i never heard of his relation to snyder. and i never knew he had worked here before the mid '80's. first i ever heard of him was in the pacific northwest around '82 or so.
thanks for the info.
do you have any idea of steve casey then?

Spider Bot - December 28th, 2003 06:27 GMT

First Steve Casey. It's gotta be the guy from England. He competed for Watts too in Mid South. The other Steven Casey aka Steven Dane came around later in the 80s and worked for Turner and in Dallas for Jarrett and later the GWF.

I don't know what happened to the Steve Casey from England. Percy could probably tell us about what happened to the other Steven Casey aka Steven Dane.

---------------

Now Steve Regal. First saw him in Bruiser's WWA in the mid 70s. 75 or 76 I'd imagine. He did marry Wilbur Snyder's daughter and his partner Spike Huber married Dick the Bruiser's daughter. Thus their push as the Young Lions tag team as Snyder and Bruiser were the promoters in Indianapolis. Sorta the WWA's answer to the High Flyers Greg Gagne and Jim Brunzell. You know what I mean. The typical good looking babyface tag team that was prevelant back in the day.

Regal traveled around the country more than Spike did. Hit the Pacific Northwest. Went to Florida for a few matches. Wrestled in the AWA more than Spike did. Went to Dallas for awhile. Had a few stints in JCP. Might have hit other territories too.

I liked Steve Regal. He had a smirkyness almost a cockiness about him as a heel. Probably should have been a heel all along but Bruiser and Snyder were looking for two young guys to carry the territory. Steve and Spike were it and really they deserved their push. Both guys could wrestle and bump.

bobbyryates - December 28th, 2003 14:37 GMT

yeah it was the black headed english guy.
i really like regal too. met him in '86. seemed like a great guy. too bad they didn't put him and garvin together in JCP as they already had a past history to work with. great in the ring.
