I saw awhile back that east Tennessee indy wrestler Beau James has a book out on himself--his look at his long career in pro wrestling. I have seen a number of Beau's matches over the years--by way of tapes--and have enjoyed his work. He & I have traded various nostalgia over the years--he's a good guy.Has anyone out there read his book?? Your thoughts & opinions?? Thanks. I hope to read it before long.

Well--I'll chime in here. Met Beau & his lovely (& sweet) wife Misty this past Sat. at the Ted "Nightmare" Allen Memorial card in Villa Rica, Georgia (west of Atlanta). Beau & Misty were nice folks, & Beau & I have traded wrestling nostalgia on & off for years.Got to see them wrestle that night, too--that was entertaining.
I bought 3 dvds from Beau & Misty & also bought Beau's book. I started it last night at work & read 75 pages. Very good book so far, I am enjoying it for sure. I'm learning about Beau the person & Beau the wrestler/promoter.You'll learn a lot in this book, about the sport of professional wrestling (especially on the indy scene) & Beau's start of his lifetime "love affair" w/ pro wrestling, & his adventures asa ref, wrestler, manager, & promoter. Real good book, & I definitely recommend this book to all wrestling fans.I'm looking forward to reading more tonight.

Beau has a pretty good old school promotion and really tries to get lots of younger guys in the business as well as honor old timers. His TV is usually good - better than the other promotions in the area, but I really enjoyed his TV 10 -12 years ago better. Lots of good, old school angles then. Beau would have been a great promoter/booker in the '70s. I think he could have booked and produced TV to rival Memphis & Watts in those days if he had the talent around him.

thank you very much Jon. A lot of good talent out there now but they don't have the mind set of what we were doing a decade ago. Most are early 20s and were born after the territories. Tomorrow is our 21st Anniversary of Southern States Wrestling. you can find my book at kingofkingsport.com

Beau, I watched a clip of your tv on facebook this morning. Excellent stuff!
And Misty does a very good babyface promo: an art most new baby's just don't get.
On another note, how are you feeling? I ******* fully recovered.
Take care,
Izzy

Jon--you should get Beau's book. It's a real good read on being a pro wrestling promoter/wrestler. And it gives some good insight on Beau, as a person. For his love & dedication to the sport, I think Beau was born 20 years too late. Think that he would of done well in the territory days.
