7/22/82  Barbados  Kensington Oval
The Kangaroos emerge champs of tag team fight
Invader One and Carlos Colon failed in their bid for the world tag team title last Thursday night in an action filled battle against current title holders, The Fabulous Kangaroos, at Kensington Oval.
The main attraction of the Osborne Promotions seven card presentation provided all the action and excitement expected of such a match.
Tagging quite rapidly Invader and Colon, took an early grip on the match and appeared well on the path to wrestle the title from the Kangaroos.
Invader One took complete control to the match, with both the Kangaroos illegally in the ring at the same time in an effort to try to subdue the Invader and at the same time to save each other from the Invaders fury.
But with the Invader attempting a flying head tackle against the Kangaroos dazed in a corner, the Kangaroos just managed to mave away.  Invader crushed into the corner post and the Kangaroos took the opportunity to capitalise on the Invaders misfortune.
However, after Invader managed to make the tag to let in Colon the fight again took a new twist, with Colon taking over control and the title appeared to be slipping away from the Kangaroos.
Colon punched, drop-kicked and hurled his opponent into the corner, as Invader recovered outside the ring from his ordeal after being so well in command.
Well recovered the tag was made for the Invader to return to the action and he really took control in his opponents.  Burling one of the Kangaroos out of the ring to flatten the Kangaroos with a vicious body check.
But after the fight returned to the ring with the dazed Kangaroo having to be thrown in by both Invader and Colon, the other Kangaroo joined in the battle.
Referee Ricky Vagas experienced great difficulty to maintain control and so disqualified both teams for the Kangaroos to retain their lien on the title.
Puerto Ricos Johnny Rivera, came off the rope with a flying body tackle to hold the rugged Japanese. Mr. Fuji for a pinfall, while African champ, Kareem Muhammed cousin of Abdullah the Butcher took just under six minutes to overpower Pierre Martel.
Trinidads Ray Apollon won quite easily from Dickie Steinborn, while Hangman Bobby Jaggers was victorious against Big Red, and the Moon Dogs winning a vicious tag team match against Tommy Gilbert and Thunderbold William standing in for Tommys son, Eddie Gilbert who was injured in Trinidad earlier this week.
