Thought it would be kind of cool to discuss the giant influx of Canadian talent that hit Puerto Rico in the early 80's, most of which from the Montreal area.

Frenchie Martin - Pierre Martel
Mad Dog Michel Martel
Mad Dog Pierre Lefebvre
Bob Morgan of the Mercenaries
Gino (Rocky) Della Serra
Bob (Heffernan) Della Serra

What were your thoughts of this "Canadian Invasion"?

They were all excellent wrestlers and credible talent. Also visited PR Killer Karl Wallace, Sadistic Steve Strong, Rick Martel, Joe Leduc, among others, and a young Bret Hart on 1979. Leo Burke wrestle in PR on 1989.

From the group you mentioned, Pierre Martel was the only one that wrestle Ric Flair several matches in PR for the NWA tittle.

I got an email from Gino Della Serra recently looking for footage of his career, I replied back but never heard back from him again....He got a nice little push while working for WWC.

Everyone I mentioned were in the area at the same time. Between 82 & 83....I wasn't just speaking of Canandian's who have worked Puerto Rico in general. I was touching base on how Colon had 6 or 7 talents from the Maritimes & Montreal area during that time.

Michel "Mad Dog" Martel died in 78, his brother Rick may have been there in your time frame.

Yes, I noticed that quite a long while back, but unfortunately we can't edit posts after 10 minutes, so his name remains....the rest were indeed in there together at the same time....along with a couple others who escape me at the moment.
