No no, remeber the whole 'was Johnny Valentine bigger than Verne' thing? That's the 'again'. Dickie was much taller than Dusty and before Dusty got obese not that much thinner, and was rarely the smaller guy when he was in the ring.. And yeah, Dickie could break out a hell of a dropkick when he wanted to. So could Dusty, amazingly enough.

I must be getting old.    I don't remember the reference you make regarding the "Valentine bigger than Gagne" thing you refer to.  I'm guessing though that, we had some disucssion regarding the two of them.  Although from a height perspective, I remember Johnny being quite a bit taller than Verne.

Thanks anyway CM, for clarifying.  I certainly intended no disrespect with the comment that I found it interesting that the poster called Murdoch big.  As I said, I just never perceived him as big.

Peace!

Please, nobody get mad at me, but I didn't consider Dick Murdoch a "big" man either. I guess I was used to the monster type of guys growing up so Murdoch didn't seem so big in comparison. I know he was a big guy, but as far as wrestling went I didn't put him in the big guy category.

OK, now to be honest, I really don't consider Dick Murdoch to be a "big man" worker either.  When I think of big men workers I usually tend to think of superheavyweights like Big John Studd, Jerry Blackwell, or Bam Bam Bigelow.  However, the term "big man" usually starts being applied to wrestlers around the 270-280 pounds or so, which is where I usually tend place Murdoch to be, so I thought the term was appropriate.

What I REALLY meant to say was that Murdoch showed some great agility & threw a great dropkick FOR A FAT GUY, but I thought the term "big man" more politically correct.
