There is an interesting article on ex-wrestler Outlaw Ted Marshall in todays' Toronto Star (Sunday Sept. 7/03 by George Gamester). The article talks about his run with the Wildman and a WWWF stint including an MSG Battle Royal with Andre the Giantin the early 80's. Wolfman Farkis introduced him to me at a CNE indy show this past summer, but I really have no memory of this guy from Wildman or WWWF shows/results. Anybody else? (BTW, on a slightly off 1989 KFM Rule violation, I caught a BCW show at the Varsity Arena on Friday. It really had an school/Wildman type fell to it! On the card was a fantastic match between Eric Young and Hail Chris Sabin. Great stuff! These guys are the next Benoit/Guerrero. Also appearing were Jim Neidhart & Jim Duggan. Sadly, they had listed a 9:00 bell time but started the show at 7:15, so I missed most of it - kinda the opposite of a lot of indie shows - which list an 8:00 start time, but often don't get underway until after 9:00).
We had a Ted Marshall with us in CWF in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Also worked as the T Terror and know that he was trained by Cyclon Negro in a gym that Negro used to have in Melbourne. Is this the same guy?
Saw Him in Mississauga at a Indy show in the early 80s and the show was bad but interesting. Outlaw Teddy Marshall was a manager that night for wonderboy Ron Hutchinson. Marshall was said to be injured and couldnt wrestle I remember he had a lot of real fresh scars on his forehead. it looked like he had been zipped by the Sheik at a Wildman show earlier that week.
Man of 1000 Holds, that CWF site is awesome! Cool stuff on guys like Jackie/John Ruffin. He wrestled a few times in Toronto/Hamilton and once at MLG vs Ivan Koloff in 1976. He was murdered in the late 1970's. It's like seeing a ghost on the CWF website....
Hey Salem Thanks for the kind words regarding the CWF Archives website. I remember John Boy pretty well from his stay in Florida and saw his run in cities like Miami Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. He was strictly a prelim guy, yet seemed to know his way around the ring pretty well. He was young when he was here, though as was mentioned, he did look older through the curse of "personal demons." From my understanding he led a very troubled life beginning in his childhood and tragically ending at a very young age.
Just found the photo, I was wrong Wonderboy Ron Hutchinson was in a blus suit managing for Outlaw Teddy Marshall. He had an American Flag draped over his shoulders and was strutting in the ring. And yes his forehead was whacked pretty good.
