Does anybody remember Knoxville Wrestling Promoter Terry Landell? & his old TMW Fed? I have had plenty of horror stories about him & his league which i worked for in the late 90s.
TMW did alot of free shows in odd places like parking lots, delis & a bonding company. He got extreme heel heat & went too far with some stuff.

Bill Needham seemed like a stand-up guy. I met him when he was promoting in Knoxville pre-Smokey Mountain. Izzy Slapawitz (may his name long be remembered) was managing the Devil's Duo, and they were opposed by Landell's guys Joe Cazana and Chris Powers. I ran into Bill later at a Smokey Mountain show in Johnson City and had a long conversation with him.
Landell must have paid the few big name guys who worked for him. Nothing he ever did as a manager or a promoter impressed me.

I recall seeing that about Jim Cornette's Encounter with Terry Landell, Landell is indeed a scumbag, Even the cops told Jim Cornette. "Too bad you didn't kill him"
Horror Stories about Ernest T Bass...Uh I mean Terry Landell. I briefly worked for TMW 2 decades ago.
1: A really long time ago. Landell stalked my mother & grandmother. He would wait in his car at a nearby street & follow us. Very Creepy.
2: He often called out people at the Tennessee Valley Fair & call them racial slurs. Including me, I'm half Black.
3: At a TMW Show in 1999, One of his heel wrestlers pushed a kid out of a chair to get some heel heat. That led to a fight with the angry parent & the wrestler. With fans & other wrestlers running behind the building in order to break it up
4: Screwed me out of money when i trained to attend the TMW Wrestling School in 2000. Kept cancelling training sessions.
5: Some of his TMW wrestlers acted very sketchy towards people. One wrestler gave me an autograph without me asking. Though of course the legends like Dirty White Boy, Buddy Landell, Buff Bagwell, Ron Garvin, Ron Wright, Killer Kyle, Super Mario, Tom Prichard, Deke Rivers were professional. All of the TMW Shows had a very nasty, low rent vibe to it.

Jim Cornette's story of his run in with Landell is mind-boggling. Cornette had to turn himself into authorities.

It is a sad day when Buff Bagwell is considered a "legend."

Terry used to(not sure if he still does) have a show on public access where he would show old school wrestling matches. He would also talk about wrestling & about how guys like Stone Cold & The Rock were afraid to wrestle his talent lol lol.He would bash Jim Cornette & others & talk about how he ran them out of town

He's recently been diagnosed with stage IV kidney failure & cirrosis of the liver. Terry Landel officially announced his retirement. He doesn't have much longer to live.

Could you expand on the one wrestler giving you an autograph without asking... What were the details there? I'll have to look up the Jim cornette Terry Landell story
Was Terry Landell any relation to buddy landel? I don't hear that last name that often

It was still in the late 1990s when that autograph thing happened. That wrestler's name was Ice. His demeanor was creepy as well, Very odd person & didn't like his vibe. Was just some local worker
Terry was not related to Buddy Landel but in Kayfabe they were brothers. Buddy Landel was said to have not liked Terry at all. & didn't speak highly of him. There was some huge legit heat he had on Terry for reasons not known.

As Cornette likes to describe it, Terry Landell was the top promoter of the outlaw mud show.
