does anyone remember Kevin Von Erich helping Michael hayes when the Freebirds split up and Gordy teamed with Snuka? he was only there for a little while and Gordy  broke his leg (did he really break it )im not sure because I wassn't getting 'WCCW' at the time! im from Chicago 'ya see' I also remember Gordy rubbing Hayes's face in the matt and scaring up his face real bad, does anyone have any more light to shine on KVE in GCW or the Hayes Gordy fued.

Yes, and if you look around a bit, you'll find a few results I have posted in the past with him on them.

Kevin Von Erich wrestled a match on TV with Jimmy Snuka and kicked out of the superfly splash which they made a big deal out of as being him being the "first one" to do it.

I do remember seeing KVE on GCW TV when my family first got cable in the  early 80's. I had heard about him through the Apter mags but had never seen him wrestle, so it was pretty cool to see him on TV finally

That Von Erich kicking out of the Superfly splash thing was one of the childhood memories of mine that would just not go away...after a while, before I got into tapes and other archival means, I was questioning if it really happened, of if it was a wrestling memory I made up in my mind.

Seeing Hayes bringing in new partners every week was a fun sort of thing, and considering the history that sparked between the Freebirds and the Von Erichs, this thing took on mythical proportions in my young mind later on.

What was cool is seeing the match on tape some 20 years later, and having it all flood back to me.  It was also pretty odd seeing Hayes and Von Erich interviewed side by side at Solie's podium hyping the series of matches that were then going on.

I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT KVE AND SNUKA GOING AT IT BEFORE YOU MENTIONED IT. THAT ERA OF GCW WAS PROBABLY ONE OF THE HOTTEST TIMES FOR ANY AREA EVER. GREAT FEUDS, A TON OF GREAT STARS, ETC. MAN, DO I MISS IT..
