Again I was watching my SMW tapes and decided to post this, my top ten Smoky Mountain tag teams:
1.)The Rock 'n' Roll Express-as usual the prototype for the typical babyface team even in their twilight years. 2.)The Heavenly Bodies(Tom Prichard & Jimmy Del Ray) who were better than the Lane & Prichard team. I loved these guys! 3.)Chris Candido & Brian Lee-great combo of wrestler (Candido) and Brawler (Lee) plus Tammy was great as a bitchy whiney stuck-up snob! 4.)The Dynamic Duo (Al Snow & Unabomb)-Great heel team! Man were those interviews awesome! What made it better was this team wasn't supposed to be as Unabomb was supposed to team with Eddie Gilbert but unfortuantly he died. 5.) The T.H.U.G.S (Tracey Smothers & The Dirty White Boy)-T is for Terrible,H is for Hell, U is for Ugly and G is for Jail 'cause the THUGS can't spell! I don't know why but I loved that and they made a better team then I thought that they would be! 6.)The Gangstas-New Jack did some great interviews! yah they played the race card but it worked. Plus they didn't use plunder like they relayed on in ECW! 7.)The ThrillSeekers-Wasted potential they could have been the next Rock n Roll Express or the Rockers! 8.)The Bruise Brothers-these guys sucked in WWF and suck in WCW but in SMW and ECW they were a kick ass team! 9.) The Headbangers-they got their start here and were signed by the WWF they did some cool things! 10.)Well Dunn-another team whose potential was wasted...by the WWF! They were pretty decent while they lasted in SMW.
Rock n Roll Express-without a doubt the best team in Smoky Mountain, unless you were watching The Heavenly Bodies Brian Lee & Chris Candido The Thugs-Dirty White Boy and Tracy Smothers Thrill Seekers Al Snow & Unibomb The Batten Twins Ron & Don Harris The Moondogs Any combination of the Armstrongs
I see no love for the veteran team of Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden--a shame. They were there for about 10 months in '92-'93. I would sure vote for them over the Armstrong Bros., no offense to Scott & Steve--2 fine workers.
Heels Billy Black & Joel Deaton were in SMW very briefly, in the early part of '92. Great workers, great team-great heels. Sure wish that Jimmy C. had used them regularly.
