The guy was horrible, to say the least. Always overexcited and annoying in his interviews.

I think he went overboard with his excitement of every little thing. I can see why. It's the same thing as Matt Striker getting kicked out of the WWE, because he said some wrestling terms Vince didn't realy appreciate, although, Striker was a fresh thing and got easily connected with the fans.

Think the idea was that he was an announcer who was also a real mark, at least that is how he came across.
Announcers and commentators are meant to shill the product, but this guy was too over the top to even do that properly.

He wasn't there long, right? Announcers with little or no wrestling background have a hard time at first to establish themselves. He did come across very Nickelodeon also.

Most people would struggle with McMahon in their earpiece. For the most part the commentary style of ol' WhifE never did anything for me.

I am not familiar with Charlie Minn from the WWF as I never saw him, but a quick Google search reveals a Charlie Minn today who is a accomplished documentary filmmaker. Is it the same guy?

Stephanie Wiand (1994-95) went on to be a writer/producer, counting among her creations such...creations as "Revenge of the Bimbot Zombie Killers". So, she's come a long way too

Not all that surprising really. Many corporations today when they hire new people want candidates to have little actual experience in the profession because they want to avoid learned, ingrain habits and train them their way. In effect they want black slates to be trained in the company way.
