For years the boys working in Chicago stayed at the Air Host hotel on Mannheim Rd. in Schiller Park, IL. near ORD. Joyce one of the owners and sometimes seamstress for AWA , WWF, and WCW, Windy City Wrestling , etc. talent sold the property 1980s .
Around 2002 or so the property reopened as The O'Hare Inn Suites. I stayed there every so often and even told a few employees there about the past history and walked them downstairs to the storage area which used to be Joyce C's Cockpit Lounge. I texted John W. and Eater of Dead about an incident this past early Sunday AM when I checked in.
Huge Middle Easterner working the desk who did not have my reservations from Hotels.Com but I showed him the reservation and he gave me the room.
15 minutes later a loud pounding and banging on the door making me believe that I was a possible victim of a room invasion. It was the Front Desk Clerk who busted into my room and then it was game on. I had a few Kiddie Cocktails before I arrived and it took everything I had to ride this 250 plus Lb Dirtbag and tie him up. He said that I was committing retail theft and he grabs my travel bag. Moments later The Schiller Park Police arrived on the scene and I showed the Lead Officer my reservations on the Hotels.Com App, email, and website.
My wrist was very sore and I was never asked or offered medical attention. I wanted to file Assault Charges against this Big Goof but because it happened in the room it was his story vs mine. I then suggested to play the hallway surveillance video to catch this clown banging on my door. No arrests were made.
The Male Cop was very unprofessional while his partner who was drop dead gorgeous was very professional. So in doing some preliminary research I have a possible lawsuit against The Property. I did register a complaint with The Schiller Park Police Chief about the incompetency of the male officer.
I am soon going to be a Whistleblower much like the recent Boeing Whistleblower who was recent found dead of a " Self Inflicted " gunshot. Professional hit all the way.
I will be very soon telling the masses about the corruption inn the Airline Industry especially Southwest Airlines who I believe played a role in taking out the Boeing Whistleblower.
So I immediately thought that I was going to be taken out. I recently utilized and activated what is called to Whistleblowers, Book Authors, Reporters, etc. The Deadmans Switch in which my transcripts and information is now in the hands of 2 people who will carry out and tell my story should I get taken out or whacked. I have my doubts that this front desk clerk was even a United States Citizen. My final words to him were that if I had a firearm I would have shot you.

Yes they did. I think one time on an AWA promo Brain & Okerlund referenced The Air Host.
Yeah the Cock Pit Lounge was truly the first original Star Wars Bar.
Wally could get I'm sure got i into a few mishaps. A few moments away from the Hotel and still there to this present day in Schiller Park alongside the Mannheim Rd. Metra Station is a dive bar called " Mardi Gras ". Every so often when I go in there I reminisce with the current owner about the Air Host Days and Joyce C. The Owner of Mardi Gras looks like Cookie the Clown from The Bozo Show. Nice guy but very frugal.

Very good find B.R. I'll do some Sleuthing on that to see if it's possible that The Air Host could have been a small chain of hotels in select cities.

The O'hare Inn Suites ( Air Host ) modern times makes The Bates Motel look like The Waldorf Astoria.

Quoted from: BattleRoyal, April 25th, 2024 13:29 GMT I remember really enjoying this when it had aired. I had driven past the Air Host before this & liked the local reference. I was of course, too young & innocent to frequent such establishments at that time. (at least that one)

!970's and 80's for sure. Not certain about the 1960's. I think Verne stayed at The O'hare Marriott off the JFK XWAY with the Kona Tiki Bar & Resturant.
