Who else couldn't understand why the WWWF wrestler's promos had the heels and baby faces seemingly standing right next to each other?

As a young kid I never put two and two together to figure out why wouldn't Bruno attack Larry as Larry is saying such derogatory things about Bruno

Perhaps since it was just interviews and not matches....everyone tried to maintain a sense of decorum and civility and thought it best to save it for the ring....

When Bruno first started doing commentary it was acknowledged in his contact he can not interfere in the matches.
Having heels and babyfaces try to out interview each other was fun. Why would they fight for free ? Lol
What was annoying was VKM not running down the entire card or announcing a certain wrestler will meet suitable competition. Why not list the prelims ?

I came up on Mid Atlantic, Georgia and Florida. Their promos kept the heels and faces completely separate (now I know they weren't). There was another territory that I saw this promo format in, I believe it was Gulas's territory but I saw that 20+ years after they closed shop.
At any rate, it struck me as weird since I couldn't picture Dusty Rhodes cutting a vicious promo on Ric Flair while Flair was standing 2 feet away from him.
