Was just watching a Spectrum card from July 1983 where Steele takes on Backlund. As a kid I did not notice it but two interesting moments

1. Steele is wearing trunks that have USMC on the side. My guess is he left his trunks in MI and borrowed a pair from Sgt. Slaughter

2. He attacks timekeeper Mel Phillips after the match

Steele should have borrowed regular short/swimsuit trunks from someone. That would have been hilarious

My guess is that George's bag was lost on the flight that had his wrestling gear in it.
Baron Von Raschke worked a match wearing short trunks . That match is on You Tube.
Baron's luggage was probably lost as well.

I was actually thinking of this match with the baron when I suggested that steel should have borrowed some normal wrestling trunks, man that was just so weird seeing the baron like that, probably would have been even more weird seeing Steel

Ewwww... so Slaughter would have had to come to the back quick take his trunks off and steel would have had to put them on

Match results listed on web sites is not necessarily the way the matches were presented.
Slaughter could have had a spare pair of trunks. Hope so

Steele attacking Phillips. Alright George

Fuji & Williams vs the Invaders played again the next night in Staten Island NY
A guess Williams was a substitute. Only for marquee matches was an announcement made at the beginning of a show

Hilarious, it seems obvious this was just a one night only makeshift tag team, but they could have actually done a great comedic tag team with these guys
