Was there ever an explanation of new announcers?
Watching October 4, 1980 WWF Championship Wrestling TV taping and Vince tells the viewers that "standing next to undoubtedly one of the all time greats in pro wrestling Mr. Pat Patterson who will be lending his commentary to us this week"
Pat stayed until New Years Eve 1983 as color commentator after this taping.
Allentown, PA Agricultural Hall September 30, 1980
Championship Wrestling taping
10/4/80 Pat Patterson debut as commentator on show, alongside Vince McMahon
August 19 in Allentown and August 20 in Hamburg would be Bruno's last TV tapings until his return in 1984
Vince hosted September 9 and 10 by himself with no color commentator
Wonder at what point the McMahons determined that Pat Patterson would take Bruno Sammartino's spot on the color commentary team for the TV tapings

Wrestlers, managers, and announcers came and went with no rhyme or reason. With Bruno being loved by fans VKM would not flame the fire by stating a reason why Bruno left. McMahon just hoping that fans accepted the newly turned Babyface Patterson.
Wrestling tv was in its own time consortium. Dates, days, time people were never mentioned especially that three shows were taped per session ,

is so true
Vincent K never told us from 1971 - 1986
Welcome to the Hamburg Fieldhouse, Philadelphia Arena, Allentown Agricultural Hall, or Mid Hudson Civic Center.
Outside of December we never heard dates
They would build up the holiday mat spectacular in late November and early December on WOR in late 70s and early 80s
