According to Conrad Thompson's post on the Wrestling Observer Message board.

Sean obviously knows his business better than I do but All In and Starrcast is the hottest thing going in the wrestling business right now, seems like something I'd want to be involved with

I wonder if Podcasts are killing the shoot interview business though
So much free content out there now, gotta be harder to get people to pay for stuff

Sean Oliver and Conrad Thompson are the fans only voice, they are very important to the business. Sean should have seen it was a complement to him to be invited.

Have you guys ever thought that the reason might be that he promised to take the kids to see the grandparents or something that weekend?

Starrcast is closer to Sean's business model imo, as far as I know, none of the events are being streamed, and most of it isn't going to make the guests' regular podcasts, so it seems kind of prime for selling streaming or dvds of the gig on KC's website

I'll be selling merch at the line to urinate on Cornette's grave...

Like Motley_Crue_Fan said, he could have a prior commitment.

Besides, if you're Sean, why would you want to go. Thompson is a part of a podcast that has had to have hurt KC sales.

To try and get customers and potentially expand your business to a whole new fanbase that may not be aware of your product

And that fanbase is not going to pay money when there are plenty of free shoots out there.

Business, Pretentious Asshole

from Conrad's AMA on reddit:

a question was asked:
"it's been said that Sean Oliver was offered a spot with you at Starcast but it's not happening.....however, does that mean a Conrad x Sean Oliver/KC collab is dead?

Please say it will happen? I'm hoping for more than a "We'll see" answer"

Conrad's answer:
"I'd love to do something with Sean. I have been buying KC stuff for years. I bought his book too. We're in different lanes right now but I'm certainly open to it (which is why I invited him to Starrcast). I don't think he's a fan of "podcasting" in general but that may be because he doesn't understand how you monetize it. Hopefully it happens on some project in the future."

It's amazing how a decade ago, Sean revolutionized shoot interviews. Without Sean, I don't believe there is a Conrad Thompson.

Like I said in the Tommy Rich thread, podcasting is the future for KC. Embrace it.

Sean loves ESS and plugs him a lot in his book. I read about 60 pages so far.

Eric Simms?

I second a plug for Eric. Eric was a long time agent for Nikolai Volkoff who I was friends with and Eric goes out of his way for the wrestlers he brings to autograph shows.
If it weren't for Eric networking and treating his guests so well, these autograph shows wouldn't have a lot of the quality guests he brings. Eric is more than an agent for his wrestlers, he becomes a family friend to them and very few agents/promoters are able to say the same.
When Nikolai passed I had a lot of friends reach out to me but Eric is one of, if not the only person, I personally contacted to thank for the great lengths he went to make autograph shows a positive experience for Nikolai and also for me.
