This interview for some reason popped up in my feed. I don't watch cable news and have never watched NewsMax, so I don't know if this is reputable journalism, or if it is something else.
Can anyone fill in the gaps here? Roma (and Mario Mancini, apparently, in an earlier interview) are intimating that something pretty bad happened during their era in the WWF. Obviously, some claims that have been made were made by some with no credibility (Murray Hodgson), but Roma and Mancini seem much more credible.
I saw the Phil Donahue show back in the early 1990's, when they had VKM and others on. What they are saying seems to be different.
Any thoughts?

Think the reporter was asking Paul about Rita's claims about Vince in 1985 in the limo in NY or PA

Similarly I've heard about Jim Powers
It's quite obvious that Roma is talking about Pat Patterson and Terry Garvin, perhaps also
No doubt they and Mcmahon misused their positions of power

What is the story about Jim Powers?
In his book Pat Patterson vehemently denied any wrongdoing. Of couse he can say whatever he wants in it but the co-author at least brought the subject up a few times.

The way Roma is evasive and refusing to provide details suggests that more happened than just propositioning.
I appreciate him refusing to answer questions in order to avoid disclosing potentially embarrassing info about a fellow wrestler, but why go on TV in the first place?
Just say no to reporters who want live interviews asking probing questions.

Just to clarify, this was NewsNation, not Newsmax. Newsmax is an ultra-right-wing fringe cable channel. NewsNation is a rebranding of the former WGN America.

Roma says that the Young Stallions push was ended because Powers refused a WWF higher-up's offer for him to perform sex acts on him in exchange for a push.
He also says there's something he knows about that's supposedly worse than the Janel Grant accusations but as the wronged party is married, with a family, and "of an age" he didn't want to go into details on their behalf.

Could he be talking about Vince himself?
Both Terry Garvin and Pat Patterson are dead.

I cant imagine anything worse than the Janel grant scenario.....not a whole lot of things worse than being shat on. Roma could have given the details without disclosing the wronged partys name. Wonder if he is referring to Lombardi or maybe Barry o?

Wonder why Powers/Roma jobbed to Dream Team, Hart Foundation and Demolition before getting some wins over the Shadows. Figured it would be the other way around.
I met Jim at a Gold's Gym in Paramus, NJ in the 1990s working out. He is a great guy. Social, personable, friendly. Thought he was going to get a babyface push in WCCW in summer 1985 but he was back in WWF. Guess he missed northern NJ.

With WCCW during that time the Sophomore HS kid making Frosty's was probably making more then most of the WCCW boys on most nights.
