Vince chose WrestleMania 1 for MSG as that was their main arena.
He chose WM 2 for the three largest cities in the US to one up Jim Crockett who ran Starrcade 85 in late November 1985 in Atlanta and Greensboro. He selected New York City (well actually Long Island Uniondale, NY Nassau County), Chciago (well actually Rosemont at the Horizon) and Los Angeles (Sports Arena). He wanted a NFL stadium for WM 3 and based on the attendance at The Big Event selected the Silverdome.
WM 4 and 5 were in Atlantic City.
When did Titan Sports start obtaining bids?
Here is a bid from summer 1989 submitted by the Los Angeles Coliseum to host WM 6. Skydome had opened in 1989 and got selected.
Curious to see when Titan started obtaining bids. Anyone know?

To have MSG as your main arena is an incredible luxury. It would have been something spectacular to see WM7 at Los Angeles Coliseum. It would have looked very major league.

I agree, but the L.A. Coliseum is huge so if you don't sell out or nearly sell out it'd look awful. Los Angeles is a funny sports market and really wasn't a hotbed for wrestling by this time. It may have been a blessing in disguise that the wrestling business crashed and they ended up moving it to the Sports Arena.
If memory serves, Donald Trump paid the WWF to have WM 4 and 5 in Atlantic City so WM 6 probably was the first to have bids.

Yeah, I understand why they moved it. If only it was a sold out Los Angeles Coliseum.

Vince tried to get "rebates" from Toronto for Wrestlemania 3.
This was reported in the Wrestling Observer, citing newspaper articles in the local newspaper in Toronto. But the efforts didn't begin until Fall 1986 which wasn't enough time to negotiate. Apparently these deals take longer to negotiate and get approval.
Not sure what deal Vince got from Detroit for Wrestlemania 3.
After the success of Wrestlemania 3, Vince had far more negotiating power for sure.

Only Hogan-Warrior could have sold out the Los Angeles Coliseum.

Warrior-Hogan for WM 6 at LA Coliseum would have been something else.

SkyDome was a brand new venue which could accommodate a good size crowd and it was indoors in case of inclement weather.

If Skydome was available for Wrestlemania 3 I think it would have taken place there.
After the success of Wrestlemania 3, and The Big Event, I think the Skydome had to take WWF seriously.

McMahon saw the attendance at the Big Event at CNE Stadium in late August 1986 and would have loved to have WM 3 at Skydome but it would not open until 1989

This is interesting. I have never seen anything like this before. Is this the standard way that all venues try to solicit big events like a Wrestlemania?

Yup. There was no talk about Wrestlemania 3 taking place in a stadium until The Big Event drew huge.
Then negotiations and logistics meetings started taking place. Vince had to have a main event that could draw in a stadium. He flew to wherever Andre was filming a movie to speak in person and make sure he was on board.
Detroit had a few things going for them. It was a red hot market, and the stadium is domed. Wrestlemania takes place during a time of year when weather is more of a factor.
